Wrong, supply and demand do
You can have the rarest thing on the planet and it’d be worth nothing if nobody wants it

my man calling one of the rarest halloween items worthless
look bro just because you think it’s not worth anything doesn’t mean that applies to everyone else.
I’m pretty sure something worthless wouldn’t warrant for 6 sunkens
Yes, but in terms of value, I don’t really find it that valuable to players as time goes on since it’s just a vanity item and does nothing except for just being an accessory. I personally don’t really value it that much but hey, some people like to collect items that they don’t have.
Ya like the “I personally” part clearly states
but then you started ranting about why it’s like worthless or something
Did you take your pills?
read below that msg, rarity is the biggest factor by far in the supply part of it, and demand is also largely influenced by how rare something is
The biggest factor is the popularity of the game*
??? read what he said LOL
oh I misread
again
but still wdym rarity does not mean value
not really sure what you mean here, if you mean that more players = more of those items that is also rarity.
Something rare doesn’t mean it’s always valuable, just going to say this.
Rarity effects supply but is not the sole cause or even most important part of supply
Other factors in this case include
this is complicated
playerbase number is mainly just rarity, and which one of those factors has a bigger impact on supply than rarity?
No, I mean that a snickers bar is worth more than a headless to the majority of the planet because they’ve never heard of a headless head.
The number of consumers(in this case people that play AO/WoM) is the largest part of demand and is often the most crucial to determining value
how do you guys keep all of this in your head
Yes I definitely agree with this, I should have clarified I was talking about a game’s economy lol
it can still be used for a games economy too ig, but only if it fits some factors
Ya I agree that rarity is the most valued in most situations within game economies because they tend to be simpler and not involve the complexities of real word market forces(i.e. market manipulation). Video games tend to hinge on a combination of rarity vs functionality pretty evenly.
