I lack a particularly good string of words to describe this, so I shall give a two-word answer and go from there: spectacularly daunting.
This sells a whole different side to Calvus, through the understanding his own child. It’s a fantastic perspective, and it shows both the good and bad of the king of Ravenna. And the icing on top. Oh my god. The way Hadrian talks about the burdens of Calvus’s crown are so daunting, I felt that.
Absolutely fucking amazing. So much emotional weight portrayed in such few panels. That was spectacular, Knife.
