How bad (do you think) is the average social media user's privacy/OPSEC?

Do they post way to much personal information even if implicitly? How easily doxxable are they? Only count the publicly accessible information, not the private corporate-only accessible ones.

I’m asking this question because I want validation (or invalidation) about my superiority complex in terms of internet privacy/OPSEC.

1 = dogshit, would leak their address/house location within a 1km radius, 10 = legendary, would actively scrub/censor location-identifying iconic landmarks and dodge the asian height guy

Yeah so I dont use social media at all, the only way they can stalk me down is by finding photos posted by others

considering my social media is all this (which, btw, is a complete cover name) and thats just patreon, youtube, and discord. The rest is dedicated to my writing, on separate accounts.

so I think I’m safe. Like… relatively. When you get stalked, you learn a thing or two.

Oh look, an Arch pfp change that I noticed as soon as it happened and was waiting for an opportunity to call out

Anywho the forums basically know everything there is to know about me to the point where anything else would pretty much nail exactly who I am lol

It depends on what they’re posting tbh, I don’t use any social media whatsoever unless you count Youtube but I always use guest. Social media is all about socialising so not good and depending on what they post it can be a dumpster-fire. All around I despise social media tbh.

The only thing you guys know about me is I’m from the east coast of the us i fucking love anonymity

if someone found me i would be… very concerned

i have like 4 separate usernames, one that i only use here, one that i only use on a platform that i’m not active on anymore, one i only use on roblos, and one that i use for youtube and discord

i have barely shared any personal info on the internets, definitely not enough to identify me

there is no way anyone could find me without like fully hacking my compuper or somethin

desmoshailor!

(just take this graph, copy the lines and rotate it 45 degrees, fill it with color)

As much as I would like to suggest AWS management console to make an instance for a VPN or something, I’m too lazy to re-study it.

But I believe you can if you try hard enough.

Ehhh, depends honestly.
Me personally, most of my accounts are fragmented and do not share usernames, only common identifers (all my gaming related accounts share ‘monsterous’ ‘99/999/1’ or a derivative of such). My socials are all named differently and I assume it would be fairly difficult to graph my location to a precise area.

Then again I got hacked and changed the majority of my public information on a whim.

The NSA:

My name Zypher/Zipher is known here, Roblox, and Discord. With Discord being connected to many Steam games I play. I have advocated internet OPSEC and I kind of already failed at this. Oh well, at least my super personal stuff is not linked to anything

Nah it’s the CCP and the CIA you gotta look out for. Specifically China, they’re everywhere, I decline all cookies, use a different browser and do extra precautions when I can but I’m not fully private. As long as you go on the internet somebody knows, specifically the Chinese government.

The CIA is a 50/50, and the CCP only really matters if you have spyware (e.g. Valorant). The NSA and FBI already have access to your computers and can control them if they desire.

trust me bro

imo its a worthless fight and i dont think the average person cares whatsoever about privacy. or if they do care then they just say they do but dont take effort to stay anonymous. anyone can be doxxed with enough effort, and being on social media to begin with is an easy win.

For me or?

Because ive sent a photo of my village to forum photography thread so

Yeah I think that’s more than enough dude

Doesnt know my addresd or what i look like

I’m aware, but when the CIA wants to fuck, they kos
