How do I easily destroy trees to collect wood?

So there’s a quest called Louis’ Scheme and I can’t really destroy the trees, it takes forever. How do I destroy them easily

The solution I found on vetcord:
" if you want to speed things up equip a two-handed weapon (greataxe, greathammer, katana, greatsword) and just break the tree with m1s"
