I’d say speedrunning or doing a challenge like reaching max with no story.
If you entirely don’t wanna do story idk really I lost my own motivation after these challenges
As someone whos run through AO’s progression and story like 30+ times now, listen to rslash videos or other kinds of videos that you can just listen to and still get the context of while doing it.
Use the market to transfer items (list items at 1m galleons, unlist them on your new character) to speed up gameplay, eg. Brisk level 30 sails/hull, agility/waterbreathing/sharkrepel potions, gear for whatever level you want to start gearing up for (eg. the Ravenna gauntlet). I think that would make it more fun.
damn i didnt know you could do this
what if somebody actually bought it for 1m galleons lmao
(okay I mean like you could probably just buy another one using the 1m galleons and still have plenty left over, but this situation is unrealistic nonetheless nobody is going to actually buy something priced at 1m)
Memorize the locations of bomb barrels, whatever location you’re at just steal all of them before leaving. They’ll give you a hefty EXP bonus and also some free galleons to help with progression.
Do side quests, a lot of them are really simple like walk to a specific area and walk back, but still give like a free level or two. They’ll also provide the most value at the intended level.
Buy the speed armor & speed sail from the shipwright when you hit lvl 30, it’ll make sailing quicker. (Or just use Walyn’s trick it’s better)
How many times has “Nobody will actually do this” been followed by somebody actually doing it? A lot, I’d wager.
Way too many to count, I’ll admit. People sometimes just go out of their way to prove others wrong, even if it makes them look goofy as hell(it is pretty funny though).
do literally every treasure chart you come across especially early game when islands are close together the xp is super worth it and the loot is good too
I think it’s fun to just strategize how to optimally do a run, like taking your skyship all the way to sailor’s lodge.
depression
I do that all the time when grinding files
or at least when I actually did…
Learn to speedrun. I’ve gotten to the current end of the story, gotten a brig, and maxed out all skills in under 15 hours of gameplay before. Fish for fish bones as reagents (~150 is good and this means you do have to take a break for a day and a half for them to rot) and then make a bunch of jewels and potions, and make pies for hunger while cooking up all your biggest fish together that you get from your crew or fishing.
Honestly, I just do treasure charts. Those are more engaging than the story at times.
Or play extremely absentmindedly like I do. Stick a youtube video on and blitz through the story after becoming almost max level via whatever method you choose and then hope you don’t get bored.
(Hmmm, almost like the story progression has problems. If it was more fun maybe it’d be less boring. Hmmm…)
Wait for full release update so you can make spirit files and files with the new fighting styles.
play something else
if we’re talking when quests were repeatable, you could easily speedrun the story in like 3-5 hours (even faster if a friend is helping you travel around and kill the bosses)
now im not so sure, maybe it’d take less time than before, a friend always helps speed up the process regardless
play undertale
or undertale yellow if ya dont wanna pay
play peak fruits instead
