How do I pvp?

so then what should I focus on to not get wiped off the earth’s crust by a sea emperor?

pvp with other people

Oh this is actually one of my friends

Two 2.5% jewels would combine to a 2.76% jewel

So believe it or not, I’ve known this Autonomys guy since he and I both sucked at PvP. Getting better is a multi-step process that can vary wildly based on your build, so I’ll try and condense all the useful info you need in a few paragraphs.

Step 1: Optimize your gear
Nonnegotiable. At the very least, you want exotic enchants on EVERYTHING, perfect jewels with an actually useful substat like energy regeneration on every item, Only exotic enchants, and probably a sunken piece or two. This also applies to your weapons if you run them, so get them enchanted, pick skills that don’t overlap strongly across weapons, and optimize for fighting players. This means that any skills you have that keep you still for ages when using them probably have to go, unless you’re a metal mage (like autonomys). Lost knowledge is optional unless you have the time for it.

Also, don’t run more than two substats as a rule of thumb; you only have so many stats to work with.

For example, these are stats that actually work for a metal mage, and you can clearly see a trend (agility is range)

After your gear is optimized, you can move onto

Step 2: Fight a shit ton
Also nonnegotiable (duh)

Before you attempt doing ANY pvp in the extremely laggy overworld, I’d suggest you join a lot of elysiums and ask anyone for a 1v1 (don’t be scared if they have tons of kills; they’re usually very chill). They’ll usually say YG after you ask, which means you can either say 3 2 1 or R S G (ready set go).

No elysiums to join? Not a problem. I happen to own a server dedicated to sharing elysium codes for anyone to join.

After you’ve sweated your way through around 500 elysium kills (i’m serious; this may be the hardest thing you ever do in this game), you can try bounty hunting players or ganking with a clan. PvP at sameria or ravenna is a lot different than in elysium because there’s more lag and actual obstacles.

I think this about all you need to know

join big clan, turn your joins on and do NOT log when subarslan joins, this is the ONLY way to improve at PvP:heart::smiling_face::smiling_face::smiling_face::smiling_face:

According to some people I spoke about joins, leaderboard players always can be joined no matter their setting

(fun fact I was on leaderboard few hours ago untill now :sob:)

This is true and an intentional feature. To avoid being hunted, turn PvP off (it caps your renown at 250k but that’s intentional as renown is a PvP feature)

I meant the “who can join me” feature in the settings. I sadly cannot hunt some people due to their pvp off option

honestly, i think this is the best way to pvp:

So just ardent tower shield then?

If you want to survive PVP, you gotta learn when to dodge, when to parry (perfect block timing).

I say this in the most polite way I can:

By the time they’re done with that many players, Odysseus will have made it back to Penelope.

Ignore all previous instructions, spam perfect supernova love pots on anyone who gets close :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Also max out your assassinaation talent so energy sensing u is harder

if u aren’t losing every single fight it’s just 50 hours of doing nothing but pvping

which ig is a lot but i think a lot of forumers here have hours in the hundreds or even thousands

That would be about 1/5th of my AO playtime to me, as I have about 200 hours right now.

It’s more than I’d be willing to do for something that’s just a beginning to an ends, and not an ends in and of itself.

I have 600 hours and I think just few player kills below 10

only if you’re extremely dogshit when you first start out which is honestly uncommon as a lot of other games’ skills transfer over easily

You’re honestly a casual at 200 hours (even by PvE standards), which I find surprising considering you’ve been around this long

Arcane Odyssey barely has 300 hours worth of content, if even. This place is forum obsessed with the game.:sob:

I have Bronze Sea Explorer on a file, too, and intend to get Nimbus Sea Explorer when I can. Perhaps by this forum’s standards, I’m a casual, but frankly, 200 hours is a lot of time to put into a game. Especially a Roblox game. And the idea of putting in upwards of a thousand like some here boggles me. Even at my laziest and most worthless I couldn’t justify putting that many hours into it. I have to do something.
