How do I take items out of my hotbar?

I know its gonna be obvious once I figure it out but I genuinely can’t take the items out of my hotbar.

ok, thats tab for me. The white selection box is for controller players.

Still wont let me drag anything… are the inventory and backpack 2 separate things?

Ahh ok. I wasn’t aware this changed on different keyboards! That button is on the opposite side for my keyboard.
