How do some people go so fast in their ships?

Silver/iron parts r hard for me. Do I just gotta keep doing treasure charts? Spots are ehh for me and sinking ships are a no go

i use a 149 speed brig and i know i’m insanely fast

I’ve got like 130 speed and around 20k durability

Aight so my brig is now at 129 Speed. Brisk Wooden Hull (I don’t have Light Silver Framing yet), Archaic Warship Sailcloth, four Speed Deckhands (they’re all Adepts, so theyre not at their max potential yet), and then the speed is reduced a bit by my cannons and mortar.

damn you’re even faster than me :sob:
(i have 149 ship speed, extremely similar to your brig)

Make that 135, I took off the cannons cuz honestly the boat is too fast now for cannons to be useful lol

Better to have it Incase you need it

I mean, I’d agree, but I genuinely don’t think they’re even useable when you’re moving that fast

I guess maybe there’d be a case where sitting still and firing might be good, but only in the rare instance where you can get the enemy ship stuck on something, cuz otherwise my durability’ll be long gone before I can destroy anything

Just use Any cannon that only take away 5 sailing speeds Incase if your sorry ass ship is in trouble

Send me link to that website

i used to only take off cannons for the dark sea but now no cannons is the default for me, it got reversed :broken_heart:

if you want range just use mortars instead tbh

Yep, I kept the mortar and the ram for combat, the cannons just felt like dead weight cuz I would have to completely stop moving if I wanted to aim them, which would make me super vulnerable since maxing out speed and turning means I dont have much durability

Just use carronades and do well-timed drive-bys, you’ll get like 6k dmg in each time and if you’re fast enough you can pass by the enemy ship before they fire at you.

I recommend having one or two turning deckhands as this among many other things like parking is really tedious when you turn like a snail
