My brig is at like, 90 Speed, but I keep seeing people zooming around at like 4x my speed. I cant find any info on how they go that fast, is it legit???

Like, the wiki says the max possible is about 155, so how are there people zooming around so goddamn fast. Is the speed stat not linear?
They use light ram and a maxed out navigator
Huh, you can ram without needing a target? Or do they vaguely use a target to get that speed and then just zoom past them

The latter happens every now and then. I sometimes shock people with that trick.
I don’t think you can ram without anything present.
Anyway, it can just generally be ship speed difference as well, especially since you said you have 90.

The maximum ship speed is 155, though it’s unreliable due to low turning. 141 speed is where most ships will be sitting at because of that.
Your ship has 90 speed, they have at least 1.57 times your own’s base speed without accounting for a brisk light ram (2.1 ram speed).
Is there like a ship equivalent of that gear builder website that’d help me figure out my ship’s build? I’m planning on upgrading the speed once I get a Warship scroll but I don’t wanna mess things up and waste enchantment scrolls on crappy ship parts
If not I’ll just use a notepad and the wiki ig

i think i found the issue
- Warship archaic sailcloth
- Brisk Light Silver Framing
- Speed deckhands
So I just looked up the Light Silver Framing. I thought I had all the hull armors unlocked, but it seems not. Do you know which chests that part can be found in?
Nimbus sealed and dark sealed. Your best bet is nimbus sealed
My ship goes at 155 if I take off the cannons and the mortar I have maxed out speed decks, and I’d have to check my sail cloth But it’s probably brisk or worship I can also use my light ram with brisk and that goes insanely fast
use: coehorns, iron culverins, all speed deckhands (one as navigator), warship sailcloth, and brisk nimbus sea hull armor (i forgo the name). the type of ram doesnt matter that much, but that’s how people zoom very quickly
you can also ram your own friend to get this speed boost, its a way gankers can catch up to you very easily
ohhhhhhh, that’d explain why I don’t have the blueprints, I havent gone to Nimbus yet. well, I know what Im doing on my stream Monday
