For those who don’t know, The Purge is a fictional alternate universe set in a totalitarian United States. Each year, the ruling political party sanctions a 12-hour time period in which ALL crime is legalized: murder, theft, vandalism, etc. Emergency response services, such as the fire department or police, are withdrawn completely until The Purge ends.
The logic behind this is a kind of “natural selection,” aimed to wipe out the weak (such as homeless people, the unemployed) and decrease the competition for resources.
- Barricade your home and wait it out, better safe than sorry.
- Arm yourself and take to the streets, let’s have some fun…
- Try to carry on with normal life, surely people still have some humanity in them, right?
- Have a private chat with an old bully or enemy of yours, except chatting with guns and/or blades
- Protect those who seek refuge, you can’t put a price on life.
- Finally! I can actually utilize the 2nd Amendment!
