How do you think mages will work?

If you could do it mid combat that would defeat the whole purpose of not being able to use 5 at once

6 attack tools gives room for like over 30 abilities

It’s like 40 abilities total if mages got 5 magics

We don’t know how much spells every magic past base magics will have and they don’t get 5 magics, also savant will objectively have the most attacking abilities if they simply chose shit that had the most moves.

2 less magics, 16 spell slots lost. thats a ton of options mages just lost out on.

I have a inkling magic is gonna be dog water

I don’t think they’ll get more spells tbh, it doesn’t make much sense if they got more than 8 spells slots since that’s just more to juggle

Ye ik, i just used the message I said as an example to say that mages would have quite a lot to juggle if lost and ancients were an additional magic and didn’t just replace a mind.

True, you get 32 skills from magics and fighting styles (base magics have 8 slots and fighting styles also have 8 slots as said in patch 1.9.147) and if every weapon that isn’t shields gets 7 skills from what vetex says savants have a total of 53 skills they can juggle between.

5 skills, one of them being the ultimate

I remember from the first reminders thread when people were talking about how “magic is gonna be better than weapons” vetex jumped in and said that weapons would have like 7 skills or so

You might’ve been misremembering this, where he said he’s been making 70+ weapon skills

I believe testers like fluect said there’ll be 5 max

ah i see

guns only have 3 since it’s hard to come up with abilities that aren’t just a cool bullet like some exploding one

I do think it’s pretty strange for that alone to be a reason to give guns less abilities, but I guess we’ll see how they end up turning out in the future

I mean tell me five abilities for a gun that isn’t just “shoot, but more/faster” or “Bullet that does something special”

I feel like that could be said for a lot of weapons though, plus imo gun users would probably prefer 5 skills that have some similarities instead of only 3 total skills

But that’ll be a bridge we cross once we get to it and see what state guns are in by the time 4th and 5th skills come around

well i guess having more bullet types will compensate for it, though i dont really know what types there could be

Damn bro vetex making me think on a combo now :cold_sweat:

Marksmans revolver from Ultrakill :sunglasses: costs a single galleon to use creates a fast homing bullet if you are able to shoot the coin with your m1 the target you have to shoot is larger than an actual coin because that’d be absurd to hit consistently

another layer of customization that seems to often be ignored is mages will still get to use arcanium weapons and their ability to modify spells cast with them. Obviously this isn’t gonna contribute to synergy potential but they always get ignored it seems.

The only thing that made mages worth picking just dissapered
