based off these screenshots posted in the reminders thread it seems like mages wont be able to have 5 magics at the same time
so how do you think mages will work? do you think losts/ancients will replace one of your magics?

maybe they replace it? maybe they upgrade a magic?
every mage as their meticulously planned synergy falls apart:
heat based synergy mages getting flare magic:
Savants now learning they can’t have 10 different methods of damage
main question: can i make apple pee in AO?
I dont care about getting more bade magics, i care about getting more lost magics
I wanted to have so many lost magics aaufhhhh
If anything, this raises the concern as to whether or not the option to change our magic is there now, since we have even less slots most likely
Idk, it seems kind of unfair that the other routes at least have a choice, albeit tough ones, but at least a choice to change their fighting styles / weapons, versus magic getting stuck with theirs for eternity
As long as i get ice and shatter in there somewhere I’m fine.
That’s an interesting piece of new information. I’ll be watching the Trello for when he updates that, since we’ve been going off what’s on there for years
so mages having 5 magics was never intended as a possibility, i wonder if this means that warlocks/conjurers will be able to have 3 magics (2 base, 1 lost/ancient) because the trello card for losts and ancients just says they take up a magic slot
It was, he specified on release. Mages will probably get 2 base magics and 2 losts/ancients, big nerf.
oh i see i misinterpreted that
Assumably you will be able to choose what magics are replaced by losts/ancients?
yeah id imagine you get to pick which slot it takes
I might reconsider what my second magic slot is then, because I’d probably want a magic that could freeze when paired with ice, so i can have the ultimate shatter build
I guess now it makes sense why so many losts/ancients felt like they were just stronger versions of base magics, since that’s basically what they’re intended to be
Honestly I think this might be a better way of doing it because managing 5 magics would kinda be a pain in pvp situations
exactly
I think the lost/ancients will be some form of mutation.
