How Does Bleed Stacking Work

The bleed effect stacks - or so I’ve heard.
Few questions:

  • Does the damage just stack simply (apply a 5 bleed, apply another 5 bleed, now you have 10 bleed), or does it stack with some kind of diminishing return?
  • Does the stack take into account decimals - if I deal 25 damage twice, do I end up with a 4 bleed or a 5 bleed?
  • Does the effect duration refresh fully, like with other stacking status effects?

Couldn’t find this information anywhere - would be great if anyone could answer any of these.

@Meta is the person to ask about status effects

It just means that each individual bleed can overlap each other, e.g happen at once.

Let’s say bleed does 17 per tick, and you have a 2 stacked. It would do 34 per tick.

Bleed stacking:

  • Doesn’t occur with weapons, can only occur with magic, most notably Glass
  • Applies a separate instance of the bleeding status effect with additional DoT depending on damage dealt upon inflicting it (etc. you deal 20 dmg to inflict 1 bleed damage per tick for 5 seconds, then a second later deal 60 dmg to inflict 3 bleed damage per tick which would start and last a second longer than the first),
  • Doesn’t have any different interactions from just single bleed, except that all bleeding instances are completely cleared by magics that clear it
  • Causes even more blood to drop from the target

That’s such a beautifully chaotic clip

That a lot of damage!

But does stacked bleeding increase the effects of magics that get bonuses on bleeding targets?

It doesn’t.

bummer dude

If the bleed stacks enough the red border gets more noticeable, too.
