After succesfully getting some bands and weeping because I own nothing valuable on this pile of gold, I once again turned to Lore Questioning to have fun.
Drachma is shown to us as these little golden coins, physically visible in a pile in certain secrets. My first question occured here. Are there only coins? It does seem like there are no different variations of coins (Ex> 0.5, 1, 2 etc etc!) as in we are only paying in these singular coins that are worth exactly 1 drachma each, with no bank notes or checks being present. This would imply that when we do huge purchases like The Humble Brig, we are delivering an entire barrel of Drachma and wishing good luck to the shipwright to figure out how much gold is in it.
The second question is. Canât gold mages replicate coins? While yes, a thing created by magic would eventually disappear, these sneaky little mages could just print the coins right before making a purchase. This could result in some unfortunate disasters. Does Paramount bank just hire individuals with Gold magic to make sure they do no harm?
i think they use a scale to weight the drachma on a small purchase. I dont know about a whole truckload of drachma being poured on the poor merchant, however
My own elemental magic system is based on the user controling the âparticlesâ of magic energy into imitating matter or energy. Energy-based elemental magic literally transforms into that kind of energy which later loops back into, while matter-based elemental magic disperses directly back into elemental magic energy after a while.
All matter-imitation does that eventually, but the process can be slowed down if the mage focuses on slowing it down.
Merchants deal with the issue of counterfeit items by using items highly devoid of magic energy, whose energetic vacuum causes the items to rapidly decay when brought close, even through the conjurerâs effort.
I think lorewise they might actually have different colors or ways to differentiate them, since a bank exists and AO is pushing into the industrial era I think itâd be right to think there are bank checks that exist.
I forgot about the existence of the TheMaterialThatMagicCuffsAreMadeOf that does prevent magic from being used and could potentially be used to rapidly dematerialize any counterfeits by absorption. It does seem smart
The real reason general argos found out we were in fort talos was because the player is trying to get up on a load of barrels while thousands of small gold coins are clinking like tamborines
