How does one play mage

I have just switched to Lightning Water mage from thermo/sailor lightning warlock

I run a 269 (sometimes 158 w/ more power) speed build, and I’m finding it astonishing hard to somehow hit my projectiles, and once I’ve done that idk what to do😭

Any help would need appreciated and necessary

Blast into beam, that’s all you need

add a javelin if you’re feeling particularly daring

While they may say press Q and F repeatedly, here is how pro players play mage according to my observation and experience:

Let’s start with blast shape. For your blast, either use the bird, drill, or fist shape. I prefer bird if you’re using a fast magic. Set it to max size since you’re new to mage

For your beam, you can choose between 2 or 1 amount. But I use 1 amount for lesser endlag. Set the beam size to 60 and explosion size to 80%

For Javelin, use 1 amount. Set the explosion size to max.

For pulsar, set the ticks to the lowest and the size to the biggest.

For the casting style, use right leg throw so the magic particles and circles won’t hinder your view.

And this is the most important part:

For leap, use to keybinds for it. The first keybind for 1 leap and the other for 5 leaps. Use this 2 keybinds for your mobility, since it is the only mobility mages have.

Always use it, as in always to make you less predictable than most mages. While they may say mages stay afar, I prefer to stay close and use these leaps to jump behind the enemies Blindspot and spam my blast and beam and javelin to them.

Of course staying close doesn’t always work, but if it is mage vs mage, staying close is the best.

Always use your water first, before using lightning. Alternate between both in each cast.

Endlag punish as much as possible with beam and blast

Snare can be used both defensively and offensively and it’s a good way to start combos

Ty, but I wanna discuss something else too.

Yesterday, I sparred with a crystal con (174 speed) and he had NO endlag, while I somehow had tons without charging attacks.

I had better ping than him and still lost almost all the time, due to him musketing my endlag

so watch him, if you see him holding out the gun then jump around to make sure he doesn’t hit you and that he misses the attack and then take your moment right after

Ty, btw should I increase my atk speed to 300 (from 269, istg I have endlag comparable to metal mages idk why)

Or

Should I run size

no lol, it’s not gonna a noticeable difference from 200 onwards

Also this is something that I do idk if it’s viable for PVP, but I like to use the low magic-requirement spells (like javelin, cannon, leaps) on my 2nd magic to save slots for high magic-requirement spells (like pulsar, surge, and many upcoming spells) on my 1st magic.

True but like low magic spells can be modified and are best used on main magic

Placed explosion shockwave spam + beam as a treat

You’re sacrificing a lot of main stats for that amount of attack speed.

Get 210 Attack Speed
100-120 Power
1.9K HP

Use this gear build:

Also, crystal conjurer with 174 attack speed is not even that fast. It may be your fps causing for a laggy or delayed input.

water javelin into lightning surge, thank me later.

run speed power def with low size invest, thank me later

This build is good but can be improved icl

i’d recommend something like this

Uh, okay???

Idk what sense of taste you have in armor builds or if you even know how to make a gear build, but you do you.

I mean how is:

101 Power
980 Defense
210 Attack Speed
1 Insanity

Undoubtedly bad for mage?

But since it is you who will be playing and you don’t like my suggestion, then you can make another.

Genuine question tho, what part of that gear build is bad? It got high power, high defense, and high attack speed that is good for mage.

+17 power

Bruh, you are using insanity 2 and you just clearly used the exact same gear as mine. Of course you would have higher power.

Still I have higher defense than you with same attack speed

I’m sorry, no offense to you, but F? F has always been leap, V is the beam
