How does Snare work?

I’ve been playing ts for 370 hours and I still don’t know how Snare works cuz it’s so inconsistent

it hitbox is probably something near you but not right in front of you, so dont try to snare if you target is literally right next to you

im guessing its something like from the middle point of a sailboat to the wheel

seemingly theres a line of sight check so any object remotely in the way, with collisions or not, can cause snare to fail. its like trying to hurt kai and merlot, line of sight only
midair with no trees nearby it should generally work

iirc, it was a radius around you. Anyone around you can be grab by it randomly as long as its within range. Maybe the range of an M1 of a magic.

me shooting Kai with poison beams (he’s behind a wall (poison clouds are still DOTing him))

you just don’t know how to use it

Yeah, it is hella inconsistent

At times it works from upclose
At times it works from far away

Sometimes it feels like a counter
Sometimes it feels like a grab

It feels like it is there to fit a niche magic never needed. At least not as a base spell. It failed me more times than not, and it never feels like the best option when compared to any other spell

I mean, the title of the post is literally asking how it works. You seem to know so why not enlighten us?

I wouldnt even use snare, another grab/counter is so much nicer. On a mage file, you can have it ig, but dont rely on a snare combo.

but I don’t, I know a bunch of people who never miss it though lol and they never complained about inconsistency or anything and tbh snare is probably the most annoying spell ever, like they can punish you by simply dodge reflexing while ur at your move end lag

So what you’re saying is that “Snare” is not inconsistent, but unintuitive?

no i’m just saying it’s annoying i literally said it right there but yeah i don’t think it’s inconsistent

I dont understan, is it annoying to use or is it annoying to go against?

annoying to go against bro
