How does Wind fling kill?

I’ve been wondering for a while

Why do NPCs die when I send them to Timbuck Two?

And I think I’ve got an
itsimage
The sea exists around the player, and so does the ground, so I’m thinkin maybe the enemy falls outside of that area, and dies by going into the void.

It’s not the fall that kills, it’s the impact

It’s not the fall that kills, it’s the abyss

its the sharks…

It’s the first 10 minutes of the first easter update

If the npc entered unloaded areas, they would unload too. And if they loaded the area, the sea would be there

When I was testing out the wind flinging on npcs, when they got far enough away they would teleport back to their spawn point. They still had momentum though so they would often immediately fly off again in the same direction multiple times.

Dunno, I’ve killed a few of them that way. It must not apply to NPCs with a limit to how far they can go, like bosses and bounty NPCs.

Wait, Knockback wind mages instakill things now??? last time I played on mine it just blasted them miles away where they could never be found again (so things like pirate ships wouldn’t drop their chests because the pirates were still alive somewhere)

Idk I may be somehow wrong

knockback only really works well on lower level npcs and unsuspecting players
rarely kills the players tho, like a 20-30% chance they die
as someone who has died to this, it visually looks like you plummeting to the sea floor, and then dieing on contact
