People bait you into doing things that you don’t want to do, they say things but mean another only to betray you, everyone wants to stand above each others, and these so-called “proofs” can effortlessly be fabricated through easily obtained image-editing softwares.
That aside,
it should be a given not to say anything that can portray you as something that you don’t want to be seen as, even more so when it leaves permanent traces, id est any mean of recorded communication.
It is sad, but it is what it is.
And so, that would be it.
Only if the entirety of our reality wasn’t built on trust in the first place that is.
Trust in what, you may ask? Trust in yourself and believing that your judgement and behaviour is sound, trust in others and the information that they provide you with.
All of the world that we live in was presented to us by a third party, and any knowledge branching off of said base will eventually be just that: a branch of this possibly false reality.
Remember Descartes? Yes, well recall what he has said: The only thing that can be proven beyond ANY and ALL doubt, no matter how unreasonable, is the one thing that is relative to a subject: Itself. (Thus was born “Cogito ergo sum/I think therefore I am.”)
And with that of settled, we can now judge this thing that we call trust.
Is it the necessary adhesive that holds everything together, or is it an issue that cannot possibly be fixed?
Your perspective is what will decide that, but no matter what you think of it; Broken trust is hardly regained, and a system that has once fallen for deceit will inevitably do so again unless it destroys itself.
Hence why I think that this is a serious issue that the Arcane Odyssey and Vetex community has to find a way to fix, and sincerely, it was idiotic of me to even comment on this controversy two-and-a-half week back.
I must also thank you for making this topic and allowing me to be brought back to reason, truly, I had forgotten to think by myself at one point in time; Something that we must never do.

I would agree that the images could be falsified, but the selectorch proof was all video, same for poly (even tho poly’s was nowhere near as bad as selectorch’s case)

but lost in reasoned paranoia, I find myself indecisive; Waiting for something to change when there is nothing, and only me.
Perhaps this search of truth is what leads to these situations, creating falsities through its implications. Yet without it, we would take all and everything for granted, stopping us from advancing.
Perhaps it is childish of me to resign in the face of this unbearable adversity. And now, I realise it; This change had to occur within me, but what does it changes?
Nothing, and so this cycle of unreasonable reasonability begins anew.

A man who is proclaimed a pedophile is a man who no one wants to fucking associate with. It’s why allegations are taken so seriously in real life. People’s lives in real life can get ruined over accusations (not to say Selectorch’s life was ruined, it’s just the internet) with no evidence because people don’t want to be associated with someone who ‘may be a pedophile’ or ‘may be a bad person’. He could have jumped ship for hundreds of reasons and, according to this video, the guy who accused Selectorch knew this and used the accusations to gain power. (? why?)
