How in the flip do fleets work?

Yeah, I was more generally referring to how in order to have more active followers you need to have more ships so both of them are what determine the progression of your tasks/rewards

Each ship type does have a difference in followers and the disparity between say, a brig and a sailboat is significant, but in most cases someone with 100 ships will have more active followers than someone with 10

Btw, does the amount of active followers affect the profit?
And does using ketches and brigs have any difference as well?

Yeah, the higher your active followers the more rewards you get

Not really, other than the difference in durability meaning brigs can go longer periods of time without needing to be repaired

when can we expect a follower cap increase? or rather, how often?

I honestly have no idea; fleets weren’t initially planned to have a cap, and instead was supposed to be balanced out by having being impractical to maintain at absurdly high numbers (as well as the time and money it would take to get there). However the benefit of the rewards at those high amounts was still unbalanced and pretty much trivialized every grind in the game, so the idea of a cap was proposed.

If it had to guess, public sentiment and the community’s reaction/feedback to maxed out fleets with the current cap will factor into when/if the cap is raised in the future, but that’s just a baseless assumption on my part

How unfortunate, I really thought it would be infinite. We can hope

chat are we cooked?

Depends on if it changes the percentages that plunder/patrol provides. If it does… we’re so cooked.
If not, then we’re less cooked but still kinda cooked.

I’d presume (and hope) not, since the drachma earned also scales with active followers

quick question - for when one has around 1k active followers (i have 980 rn), does having 2 recover + 1 patrol + 1 task give yall sufficient galleons to meet repair costs without a net galleon loss? been doing the trading task for a lil and it seems to be giving less galleons than what i need for repairs, and i have to assume the other tasks give no galleons or at least less galleons than trading, so I’m curious

I have 2k followers and while doing the same setup with harvest, they can basically go forever and give me some spare change from time to time, but it’s nowhere near enough to cover for the repairs

hm ig the best thing to do then would be to grind a surplus of galleons via patrol and then sicko mode 1 or 2 ships on talents and burn through the galleon surplus

Has anyone unlocked research or conquest yet? Is conquest worth it?

you get a whole lot of dark sealeds certainly
not entirely sure exactly how many though, I haven’t really checked

okay i just checked
in one full fleet log (which is once a day so like 20 mins ig?), you get 10 dsc
atleast i got 10 dsc, i assume it’s dependent on active followers too

For doing nothing? That’s really good. But I’m guessing the ships get destroyed fast?

yeah comparatively
I have to pay like 3-4k in approximately the same time I had to something like 1-2k

this is weird right
I’ve been using 2 recover + 1 plunder + 1 task for hours
the task was fishing mostly and conquest for the last hour or so

so one thing i found out is that minimizing risk is a waste of time, maximising profits didnt make a difference in my supply and food loss
maximising profitsis better since it gives you surplus profits which you can use to repair your ship rather than sinking down all your money into a shithole abyss while gaining no profits whatsoever

i swear these fucking bums just use that reinvested money to just buy booze and laze around Lazy ass imbecile worms get to work slaves or die die die

I’m not going to sail across half a sea every time to refill it. Minimizing is way more convenient

Once we unlock the raven that mightn’t be the case though
