How long do you think it will take to get to level 80?

I would’ve done a poll on how long it took you to get to level 80, but it is unreliable data because of the previous level 60 level cap. Instead, discuss how long it would’ve taken to get to level 80 by playing the game normally.
Like, how long it takes for a new player to reach level 80.

  • I think it would take 0-5 Hours
  • I think it would take 6-10 Hours
  • I think it would take 10-15 Hours
  • I think it would take 15-20 Hours

Remember, this is taking a from a perspective of a new player, not a player who reached level 80 and created a second/third/fourth/fifth/sixth file to farm up.

Oh lol I forgot about the last line u wrote

Either 0-5 or 6-10 depending on how hard they try to get to level 80.

For example, if they grind, they can easily do it in a few hours. But if they spend a few hours fishing, then it might take longer.

Bruh it took me 30min lol

Can’t you read? I said new players, not farming, already level 80 players.

uhh yeah ik 30min

I highly doubt it, but I won’t complain.

Edit: my X to doubt worked! My PFP worked!

On your first playthrough?

yepppp lol it’s not hard

On my first playthrough, I spent the first half hour killing citizens in a town then getting arrested.

I call bullshit. You joined the forums in June, before the fishing update, which was in July, in which the level cap was raised to 80. That means you have played it enough to discovered it’s community before July, meaning that you have played the game on June or earlier, making your first file. I’ve also seen you trade for level 60 amulets before the fishing update, implying that you played the game. You also said that you have a lot of stuff, meaning that you spent a significant time collecting items before the fishing update. And no, unless you are a major idiot, you could not have mistaken “time it takes to get to level 80” as “time it gets to get to max level before the fishing update.” It is practically impossible you have all done all of these looking through your post history.

  1. Played arcane adventures
  2. Played WOM for less than 30 minutes before July on your main file, collecting tons of stuff and getting to level 60,
  3. Actually achieving level 80 in less than 30 minutes when the fishing update has been released
  4. Having the average new player actually get to level 80 in 30 minutes.

Your statement can only be true if:

  1. You went to your main account and stopped playing it before or when you get to level 60.
  2. You made a secondary account that power farms to level 60 and collected a bunch of items.
  3. Your first playthrough got to level 80 in less than 30 minutes.
  4. You use your secondary account like your primary account, trading things with it.
No sane person would act like that, especially not a new player. Every secondary account I see has much less hours than the first account.

This is almost certainly a lie here.

I started a new file for this update, and it took me about 11 hours to reach level 80. Part of this was me not taking the grind seriously and spending my time chest grinding, but I still have these observations about reaching max level.

There is a difficulty spike between level 40 and 60. It’s a complicated phase to navigate. There is less xp return for ganking every NPC in the woods that you see, something that might carry you through levels 25-40. So you need to look for high(er) value quests, or grind the silent tower in a bad rep accessible playthrough. You are presented with either slowly grinding thru a dead zone or risking your biscuit with jailtime and maybe a shorter grind. You are competing with higher leveled/better players to find these scarcer NPCs and NPC quests. You need to play well and be savvy about NPC AI to run silent tower, and be ready to deal with being a bad rep.

In addition you are now open to PvP from higher level players. These players are people who will definitely have better optimized sets on average than if you started a file back at public release. You will also be grinding in a playing environment where a bunch of high level players are anticipating a fight and oozing with bloodlust. These fights will go badly for you, and you won’t have the option to run because high level players have more stamina and magic energy. These players will also make finding NPCs harder because they can and often will be killing the NPCs you need to grind yourselves.

You lack resources to deal with this difficulty spike. You do not gain access to high jump until level 50. Many melee skills like Great Spin and throwing are not accessible on your weapons until level 60 and 70. Now factor being a new player. That’s just very painful. If you are inexperienced, you are not going to be fully prepared. For these reasons I expect a new player to take at least 10 hours minimum to reach level 80.

EDIT: added details about being bad rep as well as NPC scarcity

Thank you for your opinion. This was very in depth and talked about specific levels, and reached a reasonable conclusion.

is you some type of detective?

I say about 10-15 hours because as of right now I’m fairly sure that quests are broken because 1. They barely spawn in any other town than Ironport. 2. When they do spawn, they are all starter quests.

This alone made it take a total of 3.7 hours to get to level 23. Around this point, I could kill bandits fairly east but it didn’t give a lot of xp per kill unless you had a quest. So yeah the game is kinda unfair rn.

Amateurs, I hit level 80 in 30 seconds

Wait, you people don’t spawn at lvl80?!?

Made a new account recently and it took me about 10 hours.

Spector just debunked Pip entirely lmao.

Pip’s definitely one of those dudes that want to look good : /

Same, I switched my answer from 0-5 to 10-15 for new players, on average.

I actually made a new slot yesterday. Lvl 33 in about 2 hours, with 30 minutes of that with no quests in all of the towns. I figured something was wrong because the trees were white.

When made this slot I realized again how harder it is to lvl up at the start than being an apprentice. Can’t wait to reach that rank
