It’s kinda hard to tell for sure. He’s definitely stronger than anyone in Ravenna that came/was around after him and most likely before him as well. I’d reckon a lot of curse users could probably destroy an island though so I’m not sure how amazing of a feat that is. He beat Kessler who had a pretty good curse and was Winterveil’s strongest despite them being known for having pretty powerful cold magic mages, so that’s pretty good. Iirc he did destroy Winterveil like immediately after fighting Kessler so if that’s true the fight with Kessler probably wasn’t extremely hard on him either.
I definitely wouldn’t put him on Wotan’s level just yet because being relative to an (alleged)GFC user already puts him wayyy up there. That said I’d say he’s probably decently close. Don’t know how strong he’d be in relation to Donar, we don’t really know yet how strong Wotan’s sons are, but if I were betting man I’d say yeah Nero is probably stronger than him. I do think Vetex has set up that Nero is one of the strongest people in the War Seas that we will probably either meet in the main story later or in a side quest thing.

I think Kessler put up way more of a challenge. He made Nero realize right after their fight that he needed to wipe out every last person in the Boreas bloodline and the Winterveil survivors from their strength. Kessler felt like a High-Extreme fight to Nero which would make sense considering Kessler had 1000 years of Curse Experience.
Any less though this is still a MASSIVE feat if Nero turned and destroyed the entire Winterveil island in one shot whilst injured from their fight speaks, to how strong Nero was at the time.
That or he was just a psychotic racist
I actually think it’s only Frostmill sized, and since unlike Ravenna we can see the population of Winterveil wasn’t centralised on one island, since we see 2 (Winterveil/Askursius/ Gloom Ruins) + sometimes they visit munera + they also have mansions(???)

We don’t know if AO levels are relative to AA levels, they’re vastly different but I assume Trigno would be relative to Nero, since Trigno by his victory over Rupin is in the top 10 strongest curse users (as of now ig)

Kessler ruled for like 200 years so he was likely around 250-320 years old
Don’t get me wrong I still think Kessler was a threat to him, just not enough to make it so he couldn’t go and hit an island level feat right after.
Nero is far, far below Wotan. Island-nuking level is more common than you’d think. To be a top dog like Wotan you’ve gotta be sea-level, like Durza who destroyed three in one blast, Theos who could keep up with that kind of power, Cursebeard who practically froze the whole Seventh Sea and could evaporate the Fifth Sea where the AG are if he wanted, etc.
Nero is probably equal to or slightly below Sixth Sea Trigno. The final fight with Rupin destroyed three islands of unspecified size, and Trigno came out of it with only a bit of scarring.
Also, it’s unspecified how long Nero was laying waste to Winterveil for. It could have taken days of blasting it before it reached the state we see it in now.

The note in the gloam ruins seem to imply that it at most took like a day if we see assume it took the most amount of time possible. I don’t think it’s just them receiving the information later cause they can pretty well see Winterveil from the fort.
100% agreed, plus if Nero was Wotan-level then the Grand Navy would be the most powerful organization on the planet cause they were able to ARREST him. Not kill him mind you, but capture him, which is exponentially harder cause you can’t use as much lethal force. And I doubt they could’ve talk-no-justu’d someone who just blew up an entire nation into surrendering, unless Nero’s heart grew three sizes that day

Not trying to down play the GN here, but tbf Nero as a curse user can probably take some pretty heavy hits.
They could never cause they ain’t my goat the GN. Jokes aside yeah chances are characters like Wotan and especially mister self destruct button would be almost if not completely impossible to capture and detain.
