HOW TO KILL A LEADERBOARD PLAYER
-
Know your enemy
All leaderboard players use some form of potion advantage, whether it’d be healing, slow gels or even corroding/melting, they never want to risk dying because they care too much for their sweet renown.
Also, always expect a fight against a metamancer, aoe demon or speed lord, always check what they play before going up against them. -
Prepare potions
As stated previously, most, if not all leaderboard players use potions, so you should stock up on some too, preferrably healing and slowness, since they are common to be seen running in a fight they are losing to heal up and come back. -
Stalk & Ambush (if they don’t have an island)
Look out for them, see where they are, observe them diligently, once you see them occupied, jump straight in with a combo, one that deals a lot of damage. -
During the fight
Make sure to always know when they are running, as this is when you need slowness V gel (you should equip it before fighting), always make sure to have other pots that could help like power, agility or healing in case you get hurt enough. -
Success
If all goes to plan, no one else reinforces the leaderboard player, you would have killed one and gotten a decent amount of renown and possibly infamy, after that, prepare for the trash talk as these people are very inferior to you because of the simple fact of being leaderboard, which makes them toxic, runners and metaplayers. -
Other
Leaderboard players are common to be seen teaming (Normally if the target is above 2M renown), in such case, you can either bring your own teammate or simply not fight as it isn’t advantageous that you fight two possibly metamancers while you yourself probably aren’t one.
Also, on ships, you must board their ship and M1 them quickly (only works with melee weapons and fighting styles, if you don’t have either, you should sink them instead and chase them using blasts or beams)
NOTE: This isn’t guaranteed to work, you also need to take into account what you play and if you are skillful enough to take on a leaderboard player.
