How To Play World of Magic: Leveling

Gameplay
Just saying most of these things are recommendations and you do not have to follow them word for word. Try what you want, but follow some of these recommendations for the smoothest game possible.

Starting Out

Upon starting off in the game you will spawn in your hometown. For now, there are three quest tiers that you will unlock as you level up. The first version is the starter quests, green question marks with a white circle around them. The second tier is the novice wizard quests, green question marks with a green background. The third tier is the Apprentice wizard quests, green question marks with a yellow-greenish background.

Wander around your hometown for a bit and look for quests. For now, avoid fighting NPCs and work on leveling yourself up before fighting. Since when you die you lose money (crowns).

Navigating the GUI and The Basics

What you will see when you first enter the game is an extensive GUI that looks absolutely amazing. (amazing job vetex). Anyways I will be breaking it down into multiple sections describing how each area works.

for PC users ;_;

  • WASD to move
  • 12345 etc to select your hotbar in the middle-bottom of the screen
  • Ctrl to toggle running and walking
  • Click to use weapons that you will buy
  • Spam click to fish (explained later)
  • Double click to skip dialogue

Navigating the Menu

This section will explain how each area of the menu works.

The App Button (3x3 squares)

  • The Magic button lets you create and select magics
  • Everything else is self-explanatory

The Bag Button

  • It’s your inventory, you can use it to select and unselect items.
  • If you want to enchant something you need to unselect it from the six slots on the left or the 5 slots at the top
  • The six slots on the left are for Armor, Hats, Accessories etc.
  • The five slots at the top are for tools, weapons and Fishing Rods

Mail Button (soon to be changed)

  • Allows you to send messages
  • The button above the text box tells you which recipient
  • The right section chooses what type of message it is: informal, formal or global (400 robux)
  • The top area is your inbox, you get the news, warnings from the Magic Council and fines

The Map Icon

  • It is a map of Magius, the land you are on
  • There are clouded areas that you can discover (it is recommended you discover all the areas before doing things
  • You can view the path you have traveled the last 30 hours by clicking the button: Show Path Traveled

  • Shows amount of exp needed to level up

Levels 1 - 15 Recommendations

The first thing that you’ve got to decide is whether you want to be good or bad. Being bad is a lot more fun in some ways (PVP, do whatever). But being good allows you to upgrade your stats in the future and have more relaxed gameplay. For beginners, start out good. If you want you can be bad at a higher level where you’ve got everything sorted out.

Seek out a simple starter quest. (White circle). Such as: “Find my paperwork pls i lost it”. Something like that, for now, you do not want to fight NPCs. As you don’t do enough damage nor want to fight the people who spam. Once you get to level 15 you should be able to do more things with your life and fight NPCs.

After this discover all of the clouded areas and specifically find Summer Hold. DO NOT, under any circumstance go to the middle of Ashen Volcano. Once you find all the areas mark Summer Hold and other areas that you like. Summer Hold is particularly good for chests and more. You can go there to get lots of money (just wander around the area) and then use it to buy weapons. Specifically your culture’s sword, it will assist in clearing out NPCs and is better in close-ranged combat.

Level 15 - 30

Once you get to level 15 you should be able to take NPC fight quests. Make sure that once you reach level 20 you should consider creating more spells. A self-explosion once eligible will help greatly in desperate situations and clear out camps. Though it is recommended you do not fight more than one enemy NPC. Scour the area for chests and wander across large areas since you’re more likely to find chests there.

Torches are useful for dark areas if you ever find one keep it. Take more starter quests and then when you become a novice wizard take the novice quests. If you are a good rep novice quests will get your rep past 700.

It is recommended around this level that you explore and unlock all the other areas.

Level 30 - 80

Run around the map doing random quests, accumulate money and enchant the armor you have gotten along the way. Recommended armor is either Wizard stuff or Iron Armor. If you want to get your rep all the way up do Novice and then Apprentice quests. Get your weapons, enchant them at the Alchemist and then you’re free to do whatever.

If you want a good reputation prioritize the Apprentice Wizard quests, though not all Apprentice Quests you do will guarantee a reputation raise.

Item Recommendations

These are recommended items that you should have in order to have good gameplay. (As of current these items are viable. After the level cap is above 200 I will add new items to this list)

Recommended Power Items:

  • Power Amulet (Dull) Enchantments: Strong/Hard
  • Wizard Armor Set (Hard, Strong)

Recommended Defense Items:

  • Iron Armor Set (Hard)
  • Defense Amulet (Dull) Enchantments: Hard/Strong
  • Your culture’s shield (Hard enchantment)

Recommended Offensive Items (Melee):

  • Your culture’s sword (Enchantment Recommendations: Swift, Strong)
  • Your culture’s daggers (Enchantment Recommendations: Swift, Strong)
  • Your culture’s bow if you have one, or a normal bow you get from chests (Enchantment Recommendations: Strong, Swift)
  • Vistarian Spear or some other spear you found in chests (Enchantment Recommendations: Strong, Swift)
