Since SOMEBODY revived this, I may as well give an idea:
Sure, we have good evidence Darkness Magic will get the Wither effect that Shadow once had, but who said Death wouldn’t get one either? I personally think Death Magic is going to be a high-damaging, extremely potent DoT magic. Something crazy like 40 damage per second, but ramped up to level 1000 numbers.
