Whether it is just Arcane Odyssey or it’s like that with every complex and masterpiece game, but I realise that I have NOT encountered a toxic player in Arcane Odyssey or in World of Magic. In fact, most of them are quite chill and extremely kind and generous. Almost every interaction is very pleasant. Even if we get into a fight, the ending is almost always:
“Peace?”
“Peace.”
part ways peacefully or proceed to have fun together
Cases I remember the most:
In World of Magic at least one very unusual interaction happened with me that I remember.
I was still sorta a newbie, and by accident, I stole an NPC kill from a much higher level player - haven’t paid attention, or maybe just been greedy.
We went to fight in the Ancient Colloseum. How did it end? I lost, but that other player gave me some crowns and a nimble defense amulet I still use, already in Arcane Odyssey.
Today, I was playing AO, sailing the Bronze sea, bullying merchant ships, but most importantly getting my first (ever!) awakening. So I was sailing around and this time, by accident came too close to an island claimed by a player from some average clan.
I kinda blundered the moment, because I stopped beside and didn’t look. I receive a message from a player:
“Are we chill?”
I start typing “Yea what’s the problem”, but before I hit send I have my ketch attacked by the cannon from the claimed island.
I sail away and send a response to the player:
“Yeah sorry forgot how territories work”.
The short results of our interaction:
• bro sent me 300 galleons for ship repairs even though that was much more than I needed
• we had some fun defeating NPCs together
• the player was an Epicenter explorer and he told me some tips and tricks
• he was also a Warlock
• he gave me a ride to mount Othrys on his brig and I got awakening
• most important - on pure generosity, he gave me: THREE items that have warding on them for dark sea voyages AND boxing handwraps because I didn’t have them.
• yea we’re friends now
And these are just two cases I remember, there are actually more and I’m sure I’m not the only one who had encountered folks like that.
