Chin up, join an Elysium server or just join one of the PvP servers
You practically sign your consent to pvp if you join a pvp server anyway, so I feel like the whole jumping environment will become less toxic if there’s a PvE clan solution made in time
i know what you are
this is exactly why pvp toggle is being implemented. you are just another one of those selfish players that think like this.
you are a minority.
also your math is literally the most evil emotion calculus i’ve seen LMAO.
how are people still trying to argue that itll kill the game when literally over 20x more people want it than dont
I guess it’s just the PvP heads with huge egoes thinking that without them the game will die (spoiler alert it will be better without them)
Making up numbers to try to justify not adding a pvp toggle is a new level of desperate. This arbitrary units stuff simply does not work in this context.
All someone has to do is take your exact examples and slightly tweak the made up numbers and suddenly the justification goes the opposite way.
Most pvp vs pve arguments were pretty boring before but with the fear of a pvp toggle has resulted in some entertaining ones like this.
The way I actually laughed out loud at the sheer nerdiness of this post, applying maths to emotions
Well sorry sir Newton but that isn’t how it works. If you want this to be the way it works, then you would have to consider loads more factors than these randomly assigned numbers that clearly benefit you.
First of all, you have assigned arbitrary values to emotions. That’s the thing, emotions are subjective and therefore it’s different for every person. One pve player could be pretty unbotheres and only lose 2 “enjoyment” but then another could be having a really bad day and lose 10 “enjoyment”. You can’t just assign random numbers to things that are constantly changing.
Second of all, the loss of “enjoyment” could be exponential, however the gankers enjoyment would stay pretty linear, so by your logic eventually you would begin losing net enjoyment
Third of all, this is kind of unrelated to maths but I don’t think any of this is really maths to be honest. The gankers enjoyment is short lived, going away after a bit because that is the way our brains work. However, our brains are coded to remember negative experiences, which means the disenjoyment is longer lasting.
Fourth of all, from a game design standpoint specific to this game, gankers make up the minority, so appealing to them is just less logical.
Fifth of all, if somebody is ganked every time they play the game, eventually they will just not want to play the game and quit. In the long run, this means that eventually only the gankers will really remain and most other casuals will have just quit.
Please don’t bring maths into emotions and psychology, they are not equivalent because maths is objective and emotions are subjective.
Also you have clearly just made this stuff up to support your argument, none of this makes any sense.
This is coming from somebody who is very interested in maths and good at it, someone who studies psychology and is interested in it and someone who does computer science and IT as my main subjects, with a focus on game design
Yeah many people on the forums have said that they quit because of gankers but that they’ll start playing the game on full release again (for a multitude of reasons, including the PvP toggle)
Without ganking the game actually might increase in popularity, since many people in my clan (including me) have also expressed lots of frustration with the ganking problem. Pretty much nobody in my clan plays anymore because of the ganking problem I believe. So generalizing that to the rest of the pve playerbase (since we are a non-competative clan) I can infer the game will see an increase in new player and old players returning in full release
For me it’s just that I got nothing to do, but I do log on from time to time when I have nothing better to do
Honestly I am just in shock that this lunatic, egotistical pvphead is trying to justify themselves ruining the game for others while also complaining that the PvP toggle will ruin the game.
I can see why Vetex was so reluctant to add this, it’s because the lunatic pvpheads shout the loudest, so they give him the most feedback. Imagine if pveers had shouted at Vetex with the same force that pvpheads do
Yeah I think I remember H (you know who I’m talking about if I say this, right? There is only one guy with h at the start of his name)
joining arcane odyssey for the first time in ages and then immediately coming back to the gc complaining about how he got ganked immediately and it made him lose all motivation to play
i do indeed know who youre on abt
Honestly I hope this guy responds again because all of his evidence is insane, illogical or hypocritical. I think what he was trying to do with the maths things was trying to confuse people and make himself seem smarter, but it just ended up sounding like he was a lunatic yapping about nonsense (which it is)
Bro I physcially laughed at this get your amateur physcoanalytics out of here
Fr his maths is just plain wrong aswell to the point where he’s just making shit up and hoping people believe it because it sounds complicated
Also the thing he said about “griefing is good game design” is just such a ludicrous take…why would that ever be true
Please, make accounts for external factors and biases at least-
Man falls for bait, gets 6 likes. We need to encourage less slop engagement on this forum
this is so redditor esque. Not saying that you’re wrong but…
