I heard that notebooks can be brought from mechant boats. Have anyone tried this?

Since notebooks are chest drops and merchant boats sell chest drop items. Can someone confirm this so I can add it to the wiki?

Yes. You can also buy them from YOUR own merchant deckhand to upgrade your enchanter deckhand. The game is funny sometimes.
