Here’s why:
If you didn’t know, I’m trying to match bounty NPCs to their outfit themes, but certain ones are difficult to categorize. By making an NPC your rival, it means no need to stop executions and a potentially faster respawn time to see the updated accessories on the NPC.
Sometimes NPCs refuse to wear anything that gives even a hint to their outfit theme, and this is where the rival system comes into play.
By making an NPC someone’s rival, they can be killed repeatedly without worrying about constant jailbreaking, especially in GN-populated servers.
Here’s how you can help me:
Reply to this post if you’re interested with how many files you have open (files without rivals). Then, when I have the time, I will find a server that has an NPC I wish to investigate. Once you join, I will go with you to this NPC. If it does not have any obvious clues to its outfit theme after two kills, you will make it a rival and we’ll kill it a couple more times to see its accessory pool.
Quick terminology thing:
I use the term “phase” to describe how many times the NPC has been killed.
An NPC in its first phase hasn’t been killed, in its second phase it’s been killed once, and so on. NPCs generally do not gain more accessories after phase 4, and only swap them around.
Also, structure responses something like this if you’re willing to help:
How many open files you have
(Optional) How many of the files are negative rep (to stop executions)
Your roblox username
(Optional) What time you’re open to play AO. In EST if possible, otherwise leave your timezone too
Note that this can be a tedious and time-consuming process that may take an hour or two due to NPC respawn times taking up to ten minutes. Please keep this in mind.
If files with progress on rival don’t count, then I have all of them, but if not then I have one
User: Sharpsight45
Time: ~3:00-6:00 PM EST( I am central, could prob be moved around)
As long as the file does not have a rival, it counts.
The rival counter resets if you hunt a different NPC.
However, I probably won’t be too frequently available during that time, unfortunately, outside of weekends, but I can try.
Ok this is kind of annoying cause mage outfits are ridiculously rare
It’s taking a while. The only one I found was lv 102 (meaning he was at last phase already)
