this entire goddamn musical

this is my personal favourite but it won’t hit the same without the context of the songs before it

The bloody duality:

(I tried to find the proper version for this one but couldn’t find it. This’ll have to do. I like it anyways):

(Please forgive me for my horrid music taste. I also listen to monstercat instinct a lot)

But honestly what I listen to heavily depends on mood and time.

Here we go again

Touhou - Clouds Over the Moon, Wind Over the Flowers
rating: 2,1

Horrible song structure. It feels like it’s just a few parts glued to each other and they don’t come together nicely as a song. Lyrics (from the translation) are also pretty meaningless.

questionable MV

月姫 -A piece of blue glass moon
rating: 3,5

The beat feels extremely off and I’m not a big fan of the vocals. Pre-chorus was also whack.

Aimer - Brave Shine
rating: 5,1

this one came together a little better than the previous two but I still had a hard time listening to it. It sounds like a decent pop song. The vocals aren’t bad, but I can’t say I enjoyed them either. Bonus points for the instrumentals

Same song but in English this time
Rating: 3,3

The vocals can be done well but if the lyrics are just bullshit, it kinda ruins the point. I don’t think it can bother me if a song has horrible lyrics if I can’t understand them but listening to the English version just made the song feel a lot worse.

The lyrics are just so forgettable (to specify: Mind numbing magic, friendship & reach out for my hand type shit). And in my opinion that’s one of the worst things a song could be.

Realta Nua
rating: 6,7

This one had an actual nice flow to it. One thing I really didn’t like was the first part and how the vocals got pushed over at the end of every sentence but the hook was pretty catchy.

LiSA - Oath Sign
rating: 3,8

the beat at the start was really unnecessary and it kinda ruined the base for the rest of the song. The rest was just pretty mediocre. Nothing too special about it. Didn’t enjoy this one.

your music is just anime OPs - which is not necessarily bad, but from what you sent, I would only consider one of them to be valid.

The problem I have with anime OPs is that they’re music you discover by not specifically expanding your music taste. You discover them by watching the anime they’re in (in 99% of the cases). You discover a song because of the anime it’s in and not because of the song itself.

They’re usually very pop-ish (because they’re supposed to be easy to appeal to people) and it’s generally just a lazy way to discover and expand your music taste. Most of them follow a similar pattern as well, which wouldn’t necessarily be bad if it wasn’t for every other teenager today to be into anime.

In some sense, it feels like anime songs are overplayed, especially when they’re hard to distinguish, since most people DON’T understand the language and the lyrics anyway. A song being overplayed can be a huge factor in disliking a song.

been experimenting with femtanyl’s music recently and I kinda fw it

there is no shot you put a (Aussie) Vietnam war song directly next to tuyu, peak music taste :sob:

Don’t underestimate me mate. I’m not always military, military, military.

(Also the Aussie one is an absolute classic. I’m pretty sure all Aussies have heard it at least once in their lives, especially in war commemoration days.)

This is like saying marmite isn’t salty, it just isn’t factually correct

but tuyu of all things :sob:???

I’m not doing more than one bulk or 5 songs per day so I can retain my sanity but I feel kinda lazy today so I’ll only do one song

Burning Men’s Soul - Persona Trinity Soul
Rating: 7,0

The vocals kicked in kind of randomly and unannounced but I lowkey kinda fw with the jazzy beat and instrumentals.
