I require the forums help (again(for a different reason))

I want to create a beginners guide for arcane odyssey, since reading through the wiki is boring but the game itself doesn’t teach enough.

Also I am sick of getting people into the game and then having to actually teach them how to play. :sob:

So far I’ve thought of:

  • Class guide
  • Magic guide
  • Armour guide
  • Cooking
  • Brewing
  • Jewelcrafting
  • Fighting style guide

I will also share the doc with the forums to send to any new player so that you can save time too

Also I will put a warning saying “as of (whatever version we are in rn)”

I might make updated ones later down the line

Guys I need help :sob::sob::sob::pray::pray:

No lol

Waahahhahahah
Pwetty please? :pleading_face::pleading_face:

Do you want advice from the guy who has no idea how to make a good build

  • mage does magic
  • warrior uses weapons
  • berseker fists
  • every other build is pointless and should be removed

pick whatever sounds the coolest

all power and attack speed

just collect coconuts and bananas

look at wiki

literally who cares anymore

pick whatever sounds the coolest

here it’s done

Stfu… the whole point is to teach new players how to play the game…that won’t help them, it’ll just leave them on their own

but that’s how i learned to play the game…

Yeah but I’m trying to make it easier for others. Telling them “just play the game and pick what you want” is way to vague

it’s the only good advice you could and should give to a new player

Yeah but the thing is that isn’t helpful at all…also the people I am making it for have no idea what they are doing and WANT the help

i think playing new games blind gives you the best experience and if you’re stuck you can always look up the wiki or youtube

Loot everything that you run across, use blacksmiths and enchanters to keep your gear up to date, go for power gear, block, Shipwrights sell basic ship equipment so you can make your ship go faster.

For this, you should probably mess around with all(10 currently available, excluding Oracle) classes for a bit and try to see what strategies are best

Yeah to be honest just look on the wiki and find out different stats, clash rates, arcanium armor stats, etc

At max level, just go for around 80-90 power, 600-700 defense, 50-100 attack speed/size(both are presumably interchangeable), 100 agility(or none, because it might be nerfed later), and 40-50 intensity(as its cooldown reduction scales down the higher it is, so 50 is enough)

These are pretty straightforward: just get what you need from acquiring/trading

For mastery level, just grind at Fort Talos.

I’ve started working on this now, anyone can comment on it if you think I got something wrong

I suggest touching on clashing during the magic section, it’s never mentioned in game and should be explained. Don’t wanna choose fire only to realize it can barely ever win a clash.

Oh thank you, will do

BUFF FIRE CLASHRATES

does the game ever actually properly explain what stat points are for?

yeah it tells you they unlock stuff but i think it should clearly state they are exclusively for stat builds/gaining abilities (except vitality till full release) and dont give any raw stat bonuses, and from what i remember it doesnt

i put points into strength as a conjurer on release thinking itd increase actual stats :sob:

Class Guide

Any class works. However from easiest to most difficult to use (as of current update);

  • Mage
  • Warrior
  • Conjurer
  • Warlock
  • Berserker
  • Warlord
  • Paladin
  • Knight
  • Juggernaut
  • Oracle

Pure builds are easier since they require less thinking. Berserker can be a bit harder as you can’t just range cheese enemies.

Magic Guide

Any magic can work. A lot of magics will depend on how you want to play. Want big damage? Metal or magma. Want speed? Light or lightning. DOT? Fire or Poison. A small list of magics to play though are;

  • Shadow - easy to play, fast and good damage.
  • Lightning - fast, and does more damage if an enemy is soaked.
  • Wind - more damage than lightning but no damage synergy and is a bit slower.
  • Metal/Magma/Earth - if you can play with slow magics, these are really good.

Armour guide

  • Equip anything you get at the start. Use the vermillion bracelet since it’s an easy power boost. Enchant all equipment that you will use for awhile. It’s not that expensive. Any random enchant can work, but look for power, defense, intensity, agility.
  • When you get to around sailor’s lodge, fight Cernyx, then farm the minions for their gear. Again, it’s a lot of power and intensity. Issue can be though where you will get literally NOTHING from these guys (I’ve farmed them for upwards to 2+hrs for a whole set), so make sure to bug all max levels in the server with bad trades for pieces you don’t have.
  • Do the find the hidden place quest at Shell Island when you’re there to meditate for a free power scroll and EXP.

Cooking

You don’t need to really do it while progressing. But if you really want to, cook fish for regeneration buffs.

Brewing

Same with cooking. Seaweed and auric seaweed can be good to brew for air capacity potions if you want to do some diving points. Small buff potions can be made to make boss fights a little easier if need be.

Jewelcrafting

Craft any jewels you would like to craft for small buffs, but you wont see any major boosts to stats. Don’t stress about secondary effects and just put any secondary effect on them. You’re doing it for the primary stats.

Fighting style guide

  • Don’t get boxing. It’s tempting when you can first do the quest, but it is way too much hassle to complete it. Go back to get it later if you still want it.
  • Just keep using basic until you want to switch. Iron leg is a good choice, but it’s very slow. Thermo and sailor are good, but sailor can be challenging to obtain and manage if you aren’t sure of where to find sea monsters. If you do decide to get it (it’s very cool), go to diving points. Thermo is easy to get, but can be a little challenging to use. It’s very fast and has a DOT, but it’s small.
