i feel like someone told me what it is before but i’ve forgotten if i was told
the air movement indicator as far as i know never changes, and’s just always been there as it was, is it supposed to mean something? why specifically when i have my magic(s) equipped?
Whenever you use mobility skills (dash grabs, some sword draws, weapon leaps, etc) or techniques (crash, rushdown, uppercut, etc) (magic leap does not count, and maybe not the fs one either?), it drains from one of those air movement things.
Once you have none left, you can’t do those moves anymore. Note: this is a different ‘cooldown’ to the individual cooldowns of the moves.
Similar to leaps, they refuel once you touch the ground once.
If you’re a mage, then air movement will mean nothing to you.
Air movement charges determine how mobility skills from weapons & fighting styles you can use mid-air before you need to touch the ground again (as there are two charges/diamonds, you can use two mobility skills).
This prevents excessive airstalling, since some moves can give you crazy verticality and distance when used which is pretty powerful in a game with combat as dynamic as AO’s
