Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure that Prometheus, Nestor, and Rupin were never added to Arcane Adventures as bosses, only to Arcane Reborn. Besides, (with the exception of Theos) all of the Arcane Odyssey bosses shown here are miles more fun and fair to fight than the Arcane Reborn bosses.
God I fucking hate “nostalgia”. I hate the way it warps people’s judgement, and I hate people not being able to enjoy the present because they’re too caught up in how good they THINK the past was.
I only played Arcane Reborn, and as such, all of my experiences are based off of it, not the actual Arcane Adventures, but…
In my own experience, the player has a big power gap from the start. Marua is already a rather tough boss to beat, mainly because of his undodgeable move of grabbing you and healing himself. Ramses becomes even harder, and Verdies is already extremely hard unless cheesed.
Then we have Theos in the second sea. I don’t think anyone has ever beaten him fairly and alone, without any help. He is borderline impossible for that point.
But then we come to the third sea. Angel? It would’ve taken me ages if she wouldn’t bug and stop attacking. Khnum and Tutenrah, or even the entire great pyromaid (yes that is how I’ll call it) are pretty much unbeatable for the level 280 player. And don’t get me started on Prometheus at the point you’re supposed to fight him. Nuh uh.
As for the side bosses… Kraken is already too hard for the first and second sea at his current state. Rupin is also pretty much a raid boss since, if you haven’t beaten Prometheus and gotten good stuff yet, you’re NOT defeating him. Sage is, I think, ok, but it could still be better. Arsen has an unfair, undodgeable grab move that pretty much one shots you.
Verdies is the number one AA man, and his fight just has him standing still as things happen to you, same with Angel. Then you have Theos which is good, and Tutenrah which just has no openings, only luck.
so like just remember absolutely nothing past theos asking you to ask cursebeard for help was added to AA, cerulea existed but that was it. Whatever the desert island (Sabura?) is called didn’t exist, neither did that island with the bigass tower.
Wasn’t that in Alalea when Theos was sitting on a fountain? The story actually ended at Sunrise Ravine, where you got the Gauntlet of the Rising Phoenix. Cerulea existed but had no story, exactly like you said.
