Ideas for the 2nd awakening

This is an idea I’ve been developing for a couple of weeks now that I think is extremely interesting to discuss with you. You’re free to give your opinion, add to it, correct it, or discard it (don’t be too harsh lol).

To begin, the second awakenings, now with the updated Trello board, are a bit mysterious in terms of what they might be like, given that previously, mages had information indicating they would unlock a third magic, and this has been edited to a simple “???”. So, I took the liberty of theorizing a bit on these aspects. For example, could mages have the option to unlock a third magic as speculated, or could it be an imbuing? But what do I mean by imbuing? Well, the most obvious example we have so far is King Calvus Caesar, the boss of Blasted Rock, who uses Aether Lightning and Metal Magic. In certain attacks, he has been seen launching metal attacks imbued with electrical attacks.

And that got me thinking that it would be quite interesting to see imbuing in other things, for example, Berserker builds being similar to mages’ but obviously with different fighting styles. (A third fighting style, or imbuing, so to speak, Iron Leg attacks with Powder Fist explosions).

For hybrid classes, this would enhance their core mechanic: imbuing abilities, like Savants, Warlocks, or Conjurers (I know there are other hybrid builds, but I’m not very familiar with them, so I welcome your ideas, theories, and opinions). For Warlocks, this would mean your magic attacks, like Blast, would have an effect similar to your fighting style, such as range and speed, plus the slightly lower damage of Boxing.

Conjurers could select which weapon effects to add to their magic attacks. For example, if you use a sword, a heavy hammer, and a pistol or rifle, you could choose which of those three to infuse. Sword infusion would provide more balanced stats and a bleeding effect. Melee weapons would have a larger area of effect, shorter range, and high damage, leaving a stun effect if the attack is strong enough. Pistols or bows would have a piercing effect and a small DoT or bleeding effect, extremely fast and damaging, but with a very small area of effect—something like magic bullets or arrows.

I hope you liked this first idea I’m posting, and feel free to comment, but please be gentle.

Mages are going to get both, and possibly more but so far only a 3rd magic and imbuing magics into each other. This is seen both with King Caesar, as well as Leviathan.

Yes we’re likely going to get a third fighting style as well as imbuing them into each other.

Savants currently one of the two 100% confirmed second awakening we know, and they’ll have limitless imbues (ability to imbue multiple things into one thing at once, so like sailor fist with eagle patrimony imbue as well as fire magic or something)

The other 100% confirmed second awakening we know is that warriors will be able to reforge weapons with different items. Vetex gave the example of reforging a katana with a dragon bone to get a Dragon Bone Katana. We don’t know how this would work though.

As for my thoughts on the other classes-

Conjurers get a second magic as well as a minor form of savants second awakening, allowing them to imbue both of their magics into their weapons

Warlocks get either a choice of second magic/second fighting style, or get both, as well as the ability to imbue multiple magics into one fighting style, or imbue a magic and a fighting style into another fighting style. Not sure, just what I imagine.

Paladins get a second magic as well as imbuing multiple magics into relics and multiple relics into magics.

Juggernauts get a second fighting style and be able to imbue multiple relics into their fighting styles.

Knights will get the ability to imbue multiple relics into their weapons as well as maybe a minor version of oracles god soul ability, or they’ll get something entirely unique like warrior (maybe like fused relic/weapons)

Warlords will get a second fighting style as well as imbuing multiple fighting styles into 1 weapon.

I have no idea what oracle could get, maybe combined god souls or something, maybe also an ability to completely negate the downside of unstable god soul imbues? (In addition to getting Zeus’ god soul since im imagining he’s going to give us our second awakening since hes the canonical ancestor to the MC, we’ll likely get a vision from him during a life and death situation and remember some of our past.

These ideas all just kinda sound like having more imbuements, which is neat but not really great especially since it’d make all the classes feel the same.

Except mage, I think spell combining for ultimate arts will be part of their awakening (with the 3rd magic also being part of it). As for hybrids I think it’ll just depend, like magic/strength get a 2nd magic/FS plus something else. We already know what savant is so I’ll just ignore them.

well thats what hybrids are, every hybrid revolves around imbuements

as for the mage/berserker ones, imbuement was the only way i could really describe it, but yes its the same principle of combining spells, and berserker is the same except with techniques, and we already know what warrior will be

Iirc the warrior one isn’t confirmed it was just an idea.

Also by making all classes revolve around imbues that also includes pure builds, plus there’s the issue of “why can I imbue magic into weapons at the first awakening but then I have to wait to do vice versa?”

Also also with your ideas most of them from what I understand are just imbue stacking which is gonna be Savant’s whole unique thing.

guessing extra magic/fs/weapon/relic slot and imbuement stacking for many of them

mages will get the ability to combine 2 magics into a singular attack ass seen with dragons the ability is referred to as origin alongside 3rd magic

Conjurer are getting the ability to reforge any weapon into an arcanium weapon And higly likely get a 2nd magic

Has Vetex outright stated this?

If so are you able to provide evidence, I want to believe you but I just want to be sure.

well it was said by vetex in a QnA so no reason to think otherwise

it was never said to be something unique to savant, savants first awakening is the exact same as any other hybrid it just expands more because savants have more to work with.

savants imbues will be able to do things that hybrids wont be able to, like imbues from 2 different things like a weapon imbued with magic and a fighting style, whereas my ideas were just like both magics imbued and stuff like that

only thing vetex has outright stated is that second awakenings will be much more powerful than first awakenings, and we do know mages will get a 3rd magic, and there are like 3 new bosses that use fused magic attacks (not just monsters/curse users since leviathan can do it) so its not a stretch to say it’ll also be part of the 2nd awakening, anything past that is just speculation rather than fairly supported guesses

Eh even then imbue stacking would just be kinda lame for every class to get imo. It removes half of the uniqueness of Savants and just seems like it’d be better for each class to get something unique (like forging relics into weapons or something insane like that for knights to match arcanum forging). This is really just a matter of personal opinion on what people prefer though.

I hope you get to choose between 4 weapons or 2 magic/str on weapon hybrids. For the others idk

i’m hoping Oracles get a tool similar to magics/fs that let em cast rites without a Relic
[Considering that we are a Legacy, it should let us manipulate our own spirit energy like Athena’s book says]

Prob would be limited to just the basic rites unless we have the god soul connected to those specific rites

(Made this before we got name changes)

Arcane Odyssey – 2nd Awakening Concepts

Oracle

Cool Ability: Peak of Divinity

Description:

Grants the ability to imbue two God Souls onto a relic simultaneously.

When two souls are imbued together, their effects become significantly more dramatic depending on the relationship between the souls and the relic. Synergies, conflicts, and unique interactions create far more combinations to experiment with than Oracle’s first awakening, greatly expanding build variety.

Lame Ability:

4th Relic Slot

Mage

Cool Ability: Origin

Description:

A legendary ability demonstrated by powerful figures such as King Octavius Caesar and ancient dragons.

Origin allows a Mage to combine two magics into a single spell. Through a new customization menu, spells can be modified to incorporate a secondary magic. Combined spells have increased cast time and cooldown but gain enhanced properties and unique interactions based on the magics used.

The stat increase would be less significant than an Ultimate Art, but players can apply Origin to multiple spells, creating extensive customization opportunities.

Lame Ability:

3rd Magic

Berserker

Cool Ability: Mixed Martial Arts

Description:

Allows the use of two Fighting Styles simultaneously.

A Berserker can imbue one Fighting Style into another, creating hybrid techniques and unique combat interactions between styles.

Lame Ability:

3rd Fighting Style

Warrior

Cool Ability: Artisan Forge

Description:

Unlocks the ability to reforge weapons using a wide variety of materials.

Different materials grant different properties:

  • Coal → Burning attacks

  • Metal Scraps → Increased bleeding damage

  • Gems → Magic energy storage

  • Other rare materials → Additional unique effects

Only Warriors with this awakening can use forged weapons created through the Artisan Forge.

Lame Ability:

4th Weapon Slot

Paladin

Cool Ability: Divine Wisdom

Description:

Grants the ability to imbue God Souls into both relics and magic.

A God Soul can be combined with a relic on a magic, or with a magic on a relic. Synergies and instability effects still occur whenever relics and God Souls interact.

This greatly expands the possibilities of Spirit-Magic hybrid builds.

Lame Ability:

2nd Magic

Juggernaut

Cool Ability: Divine Strength

Description:

Grants the ability to imbue God Souls into both relics and Fighting Styles.

A God Soul can be combined with a relic on a Fighting Style. Synergy and instability mechanics apply normally, allowing for powerful Spirit-Strength combinations.

Lame Ability:

2nd Fighting Style

Knight

Cool Ability: Divine Dexterity

Description:

Grants the ability to imbue God Souls into both relics and weapons.

A God Soul can be combined with a relic on a weapon, creating unique effects depending on the interactions between the relic, soul, and weapon.

Synergy and instability mechanics still apply.

Lame Ability:

Weapon Aura

Warlock

Cool Ability: ??? (Needs a Unique Identity)

Current Idea:

Warlocks could choose between:

  • Origin (Mage’s awakening) adapted for Magic + Fighting Styles.

  • Mixed Martial Arts (Berserker’s awakening) adapted for Fighting Styles already imbued with magic.

However, this would feel unoriginal and simply reuse Mage and Berserker awakenings.

Ideally, Warlock should receive its own unique mechanic that fully embraces the fusion of Magic and Strength.

Lame Ability:

2nd Magic or 2nd Fighting Style

Conjurer

Cool Ability: Arcanium Forge

Description:

Using magic-conductive materials such as Gold, Silver, and Arcanium, Conjurers can reforge ordinary weapons into Arcanium Weapons.

Arcanium Weapons possess unique magical properties and can only be used by Conjurers who have unlocked this awakening.

Lame Ability:

2nd Magic

Warlord

Cool Ability: Heavy Forge

Description:

Using exceptionally dense materials such as Titanium, Warlords can reforge standard weapons into Strength Weapons.

These weapons scale with Strength rather than Weapons and are exclusive to Warlords with this awakening.

To avoid excessive development work and visual issues, these weapons would not become colossal versions of existing weapons—they would simply function as Strength-based weapons.

Lame Ability:

2nd Fighting Style

Savant

Cool Ability: Polymath

Description:

The ultimate showcase of Savant’s potential.

Polymath allows multiple forms of imbuement to be stacked together. However, only one of each combat type can be used, preventing excessive stacking.

For example, you could not use:

  • 3 Relics

  • 2 Magics

  • 1 Fighting Style

Instead, combinations would look like:

  • 1 Relic

  • 1 Magic

  • 1 Fighting Style

  • 1 Weapon

Examples

Spirit / Magic / Strength

  • A relic can be imbued into a magic.

  • A magic can be imbued into a relic.

  • Both a relic and magic can be imbued into a Fighting Style simultaneously.

Spirit / Magic / Weapons

  • A relic can be imbued into a magic.

  • A magic can be imbued into a relic.

  • Both a relic and magic can be imbued into a weapon simultaneously.

Spirit / Strength / Weapons

  • A relic can be imbued into a Fighting Style.

  • Both a relic and Fighting Style can be imbued into a weapon simultaneously.

Magic / Strength / Weapons

  • A magic can be imbued into a Fighting Style.

  • Both a magic and Fighting Style can be imbued into a weapon simultaneously.

Spirit / Magic / Strength / Weapons

  • A relic can be imbued into a magic.

  • A magic can be imbued into a relic.

  • A relic and magic can be imbued into a Fighting Style.

  • A relic, magic, and Fighting Style can all be imbued into a weapon at the same time.

Lame Ability:

2nd Magic or 2nd Fighting Style

cooked so hard right there

Damn bro, you’re the one who best captured my idea. Obviously, you have your own ideas, but this is incredible. You should make a topic about this and refine the Warlocks and use the concept of imbuing magic attacks with effects and stats from fighting styles. I’ll be watching and supporting you.

Can we please just get a 4th weapo slot at least for warriors? All other classes get more versatility but Warriors are still stuck with 3 4-5 skill weapons

I have an idea as well.

Mage - Last magic + One magic imbuement on top of a magic (not magic mixing, more like coating a magic with another one) + Magic Mixing

Berserker - Last FS + FS imbuement(coating) + Mixed Martial arts

Oracle - Double God-Soul imbue + Body Manipulation where you can reshape body parts or even heal an entire limb without healing pots. Strong resistance against insanity.

Warrior - Artisan Weapon Forging + Double Move combinations (Like combining flying slash and flying pheonix together, 2nd move deals 0.3x damage), Full Parry (100% damage reduction + slight damage reflection based on damage recieved)

Savant - 2nd magic and FS + multi-imbuement(up to 3) + Magic Creation (I will explain in a bit) + custom Savant weapon type crafting (for savants who have different types of stats)

Paladin - 2nd magic + God-imbuement stacking with normal imbuement + Creation Magic (I will explain in a bit)

Juggernaut - 2nd FS + God Imbuement stacking with normal spirit imbuement + slight resistance to insanity

Knight - God Imbuement stacking with normal spirit imbuement + slight resistance to insanity + Artificial Spirit weapon creation

Conjurer - 2nd magic + dual imbuement + magic imbuement

Warlock - 2nd magic and FS + dual imbuement(works with FS, not just magic) + magic imbuement

Warlord - 2nd FS + Dual FS imbuement + Stronger Parry (100% damage reduction on parry)

So Creation magic is just magic that can persist for longer than usual. Due to Spirit being mixed with Magic, it becomes slightly more similar to how a curse works. The status effects and/or terrain changes like bushes being lit on fire, water/acid/magma puddles lasting significantly longer, poison/ash clouds lasting significantly longer, light casting blindness for longer by a bit, or even snow, ice, earth etc vfx lasting significantly longer. Wind would make small tornadoes that can clear vfx (but not deal damage) and is capable of stopping tornadoes. If the player wants and is capable, they can buff the ship’s HP with metal/earth/wood/glass magic temporarily (buff not heal. There is a difference.). Basically, the PvE experience can be improved that way with this niche idea.

how would this work?
