Quite the opposite. They have lots of hp, and their percentage-based damage can really help at times. But, against the usual threats, they’re kinda weak and can only tank hits.

There were no birds in older versions because the White Eyes ate them all, as they are the true inventors of magic flight.
That isn’t how evolution works. We’re looking at a simple case of convergent evolution, two unrelated species developing similar traits.
It would appear something about the whales taking to the sky caused a drastic shift in the environment. Perhaps they’re consuming all White Eyes’ food, blocking their breeding spaces, or perhaps something else entirely, but most recent White Eyes have lost their flying abilities.
I assume otherwise. Whales replacing White Eyes as the resident flying apexes isn’t a cause, but rather the consequence of one.
As we know, White Eyes is a fish, it has gills. Out of water, the gills would soon dry out, and the fish will sufflocate. We’re not discussing both animals’ own weight crushing their organs outside of water, since that isn’t an apparent issue for neither whales nor White Eyes.
Since at its latest days AO is really dry, the air lost the proper moisture level to support the colossal shark population, the niche became open, and the whales simply claimed it for themselves. Whales didn’t cause White Eyes’s downfall, they just benefited off of it.
It doesn’t change the fact that flying White Eyes are critically endangered, close to extinction even, however.

tankier than a white eyes i guess so maybe just a regular old flintlock rather than a glass gun, but the damage is nothing compared to a white eyes
The target will need to have hp similar to an ancient dragon’s in order for the mount dragon to catch up to a white eyes in damage
