While I was playing, some random dude traded me 3 notebooks for 500 galleons. Vetex, please make some npc sell notebooks and some common deckhand items, or the cheapest items would be unaffordable
Merchant npcs can already sell notebooks, the other things tho, i feel ya bud

Nah, we’re talking about the NPC Merchants on naturally spawning Merchant ships. They can randomly sell stuff like Notebooks or other common items.
Ok, THAT merchant. I will just sink their ship then buy their stuff, for both deckhand levels and my notebooks
Pretty sure sinking the ship will kill the merchant. Probably don’t want to do that
It won’t, I sunk a lot for my deckhands
I would just keep my renown around 50k to avoid hunters while also not being too low and getting called as a noob

Don’t forget clearstones, cuz there’s a lag issue which made them a pain to collect, and some ppl would rather buy them rather than to collect them
All other professions require relatively easy to obtain items for their promotions, and then there’s navigator asking for 15 clearstones
I got like 30 from one small othyris trip
My ship struggles to get near othrys due to immense lag which somehow only affected my ship. UI and player is unaffected. Guess I need to swim 1 Ravenna distance to reach Titan caverns

Navigator’s requirements are indeed really annoying.
The notebooks you really just have to luck out for on merchant ships and I literally spent an hour grinding 75 clearstones
Here I found a notebook seller on a fortified ketch
but thats only 10. you need like 52 or smth to fully upgrade
