Live smile reaction:
It is going to be REAL DAMN DIFFICULT to keep any semblance of sanity or dignity with this one.
Boss Injuries were added as a part of immersion, and possibly to influence players to grind a bit outside of combat before going to the next story parts. There were originally a lot more injury types that could happen at any time, but these ranged from “take damage on every single fall” to “take a bunch of damage whenever we want fuckface.” There’s a reason Vetex stopped it at Boss Injuries, and there’s also a reason why General Injuries being scrapped makes it easier for me to sleep at night.
I’m sorry, what’s the goal here? I can read, and I can comprehend reading, but I have no idea how injuries coming from taking a lot of damage will make players more carefree. From what I can comprehend, I’m not too jazzed about lowering maximum HP from taking enough hits, because if your HP recovers slowly enough, you’ll probably end up stopping whatever you want to do to go do Treasure Charts or something instead, which is a part of why Vetex scrapped Injuries; it’s because he deemed them intrusive.
Altering stats based on these injuries also sounds like it would not only be an absolute pain in the ass to balance, but would also screw over some players more or less depending on what their stats happen to be. Imagine suddenly going from doing 400+ Damage per fully charged Water Blast to only 250-ish damage, or going from your Speed Aura 20-Light Blast being a machine gun to being half as fast. See what I’m getting at here?
Sorry, but I really don’t know how to say this nicely. I don’t know why Limb Loss is here. I don’t know why Limb Loss needs to be worse. So you want players to be fucked over after losing a limb, which can happen in a critical moment of a Dark Sea run thanks to Zeus himself, even more than they already would be if they needed one of their limbs (say, if you’re using a Warrior or Oracle build)? And you want these debuffs to STACK??
I’m going to keep it real with you; what in the sweet mother of the War Seas were you thinking?
This has to be a joke. There is no other logically-sound explanation for this.
I don’t even want to keep reading; these first sections destroyed any potential for this suggestion to be salvageable at-best. Again, I’m sorry if I was toxic here, but I genuinely can’t fathom how this can be seen as good.
Immersion has its limits.
Overall it’s an unnecessary addition that brings no real purpose, current injury system is good just for story telling purposes. Outside from that function, it shouldn’t be included in anything else.
Please stop commenting on this I decided to rework it later
ask for it to be closed
item asylum yucky
it is confirmed that injuries will get reworked on full release (atleast from what i remember), this is a concept and not how it should be, they would be balanced and you could probably get rid of them using something like a bandage out of combat or something like that
yes i know that taking %max hp is kinda annoying, but if it is only in fights, it could make regen builds that literary never die in wars have to think a bit more (because regen builds often have low defense, the threshold to deal injuries would be greater, and so regular builds wouldn’t be affected, even tho regen got mad nerfed)
about the story rants: i really don’t know why they added them into story, i guess it makes sense, but this would be completely separate, you wouldn’t have to wait 2 hours to clear it, just use a bandage (that could be like a 2-3 second animation where if you are hit it gets cancelled, to prevent just healing them care free instantly, cough, cough, health potions, cough ) or something of that style, duh
the nerfs would obviously be more balanced, the limb loss injuries could probably just be more minor, not just lose your arms and legs and be unable to use them, you maybe could use magic to create “fake arms, legs and eyes” or just make your character put on a wooden one in other classes, maybe completely regenerate your eyes with spirit builds, that would SEVEARLY reduce the effects
about the permanent blinding, from like “light fatigue” or sum, it would be extreamly minor, a whole permanent stack of light would cripple (if not buff in night) every opponent, they would be way way less severe
Also, instead of them triggering ONLY by %hp hits, they could happen with certain moves, like SPECIFIC grabs (not all grabs for god’s sake), or as a result of taking damage to a specific part of your body for a LONG period, i’m talking each part of your body having 3x your hp, so fights don’t last forever too (i’m a victim of long fights)
pretty nice bait, it was hard to tell apart at first. i might post this in vetcord later and see how it goes
crazy how proposing something to be expanded in a very not intrusive way to playing is deamed as ragebait
I believe fartman was talking about OP, but man, same goes for you
it still is hard to trigger and easy to heal
both
fair enough
How are we ragebaiting??? Elaborate
well you arent mb
I’m now confused
people on this comunity (and many others) think that if something would invoque the slightest bit of outrage is considered ragebait, even tho by that logic, you could also consider that stuff like agilty’s removal, nerfing stuff, so many others is ragebait by vetex
i mean tbf it looked like you were opposing everything else just to oppose
i was trying to make constructive stuff
