ink and paper magic should be combined into a new hybrid magic, spell magic. the user would make spells based on other magics on paper, the user would be able to use all the magics in existence on those written paper… so for example a projectile could be explosion, acid, metal… I think that would be cool and everyone can use it
I would absolutely love paper and ink back but I think they’re gonna need a slightly less complicated gimmick
(ngl I don’t understand why paper doesn’t fit the theme of AO it would be a fantastic magic)
so your saying you write kaze no jumon 風 の 呪文 in the air on a piece of paper with ink and it creates a wind spell blast

i think one of my arguments was that the juraserva could have the paper and ink curse which is how they can write the agora (just like keraxe and his navy with curse made boats) therefore since it is an elemental curse an element comes with it. also it would be cool if paper had special shapes (confetti and flat confetti applies bleed multiple times and flat gives knockback rather than bleed).
I can’t take the idea of paper magic seriously, ESPECIALLY in AO
I can understand every magic that exist making sense to actually harm people, even water and wind (let’s ignore shadow and light). But PAPER??? 
“Paper blast!” That better be a densely, tightly packed STACK of papers if it’s gonna deal some damage

the main reason Paper and Ink were removed is because they are man made materials and cannot occur naturally.
every other base magic on the other hand uses an element that can occur naturally.

Glass is a natural element.
it’s created when sand is superheated, which is most commonly observed when lightning strikes beaches.
Steel could also technically be considered a natural element, (my first analysis was wrong) as its an alloy of iron and carbon, which are both natural elements aswell.
Just because we can forcibly create them does not mean they cannot occur naturally.

Sharpened paper. i assume ink here gets the water treatment? also shadow and light would be directly related to the magic energy especially saying with the old shadow effect. I guess the UV rays in light hurts the skin or sunburn.
paper would just be really sharp. also i imagined scribed as the one move from deepwoken from the contractor oath (the vines)
