As you can see he is at insanity 5 without warding in the dark sea and he also did not get this insanity from a player, me and him threw insanity 3 gel on ourselves and went into the dark sea not thinking anything of it, but we were going directly towards the dark sea for 30+ mins without a single level of insanity, so i put on an insanity 1 item and immediately died to insanity 5 instead of 1, apparently we were in the far reaches and in insanity 4, he kept going without me and got to insanity 5 and still wasn’t dying. Edit: the effect of this glitch also appears to be that it only gives you insanity 0 dark sea structures like abandoned boats. oh yeah also no islands or anything, the only things that spawn are abandoned ships, ghost ships, and fog. No tornado islands or anything

not that im blaming this guy at all, pretty sure everyone knows that bug (at least heard about it) and he didnt do anything wrong
