Ever since ive been watching monster hunter wilds, ive been think, now that food is a bigger mechanic of arcane odyssey shouldnt there be more quality of life animations, features and immersion quests? Not only that, but shouldnt they be more interesting? I personally that vetex should add cooking, brewing, and crafting animations as a small but meaningful feature, and more unique food models and food types.

Crafting - player pulls chair and as menu opens they grab tools and gem and begin to do a refining animation, as they get up an animation of them putting them gem in the pocket is shown as it goes into the inventory.

Brewing - player stirs a boiling cauldron, and when a potion is successfully made they bottle it and put it in their backpack.

Cooking - player grabs item and tosses it in the pot while putting hands over pot and watching it sizzle and steam.

^ All of these could be turned off if desired. ^

Food - More ingredients like cheese, rice, beans, pasta, honey, sauce, sugar, flour etc. should be added, and baking pastries and sweets could be a thing.

Cook Book - Add a tab in the menu next to fishing called “cook book” which would have 3 tabs, first - a log of the meals you have cooked, second - a page of specific ingredients to create a meal, third - a table of how to prepare ingredients with basic ingredients, like turning wheat into flour or pasta, milk into cheese, etc.

Plants - More plants like wild berries and tropical fruits could be added.

Interactions - only two more animals and an insect type would be added such as deer, foxes, and bees in certain islands. Bears and deers would have certain hunting interactions and rabbits and foxes could also have chasing interactions, but this could also be turned off in settings. Bees which would pollinate all of the sky hall orchards can also have their hives harvested for honey.

Quests - Quests could be cooking competitions held by certain businesses, hunting quests, maybe a quest relating to Artemis’s legendary deer the cerynean hind or the golden fleece, helping homeless or poor by making nutritious meals for them, and things like farming since we have sky hall farms.

not to be rude but its generally a bad idea to hammer crystals as they can shatter

flour is just ground up wheat, cheeze is just fremented milk, pasta is just really modified wheat and salt already exists
we don’t need such items, what we do need is a ‘preperation’ table for making these ingredients

where would it fit though? as in: where do (straw)berries grow? do any of the islands have those qualifications?

this would look… really annoying to code and laggy, also quite unneccesary

hey not to be rude but skyhall is really cold since its in the clouds
bees dont work well when it’s cold

this could be interesting, a chain of side quests thats really long like that of the winter event could be possible, same goes for the cooking competition as long as it’s not a procedurely generated quest
also, skyhall farms…? you meant clan farms right? skyhall isnt in the game yet

You could use tools to cut and polish the gems, sorry I left that vague.

I like how you outlined this, I’ll say we need more basic crops, plants, and liquids, so yes we could just build on vetex’s cook book idea where there is log for the meals you’ve made and then another tab for an ingredient —> meal page, and one more tab for preperation on how to make basic ingredients, like milk into cheese, wheat into pasta and flour, etc.

Wild berries could grow on islands like black reach, in skyhall orchards, in ierchos, goso jungle could also have mangoes too.

Vetex isn’t incapable of coding and this wouldn’t be so difficult. He already made a statement its insulting, and plus NPCs in towns have interactions as seen in leaks. Why do you think it would be difficult for animal interactions?

Wild bees can work somewhat in the cold, and by that logic the farms and orchards shouldn’t exist in skyhall then since they are above clouds and they don’t get rain. Arcane odyssey is its own world in which we could just have bees that have already adapted to the cold.

These things could work in clan farms but this was planning for full release or small things to add along side the bug fixing when the game releases.

I’m all for new interactions and ways to get immersed into the world, I wouldn’t call this quality of life though, that’s a whole different thing.

Buzz off, these are superior Skyhall bees. They’re too cool to die to cold weather like your weak sea bees.

Because animals aren’t human, they behave differently, but yeah you’re right

Yeah this seems alright to have, animations on the most bland things could make it more lively. A prime example of this would be a minecraft addon called “Actions and Stuff” where it completely overhauls the animations of everything which a lot of bedrock players immediately bought.

There’s a good reason as to why it was a success and satisfactory animations is a core factor of it. Though sadly this would most likely be put in the lowest priority…

I think these are all some great additions to the game that should be considered! That being said you can’t exactly just toggle off npc behavior so I have to dock you a star in reasonability for that. Regardless you got my vote!

Ty :blush:, can you guys recommend this to your peers and clans so that more people can see this. It would be cool if we could get this to testers and game mods so that they recommend it to vetex!
