I’ve been noticing that recently, every time I join I experience about 2-3 seconds of input lag, making the game near unplayable. It runs just fine and my internet is working well, as evidenced by my being able to play other games without any problems, so I’m not quite sure what’s causing this.
Something interesting that I should note is that WASD and space inputs are working as normal, but casting spells, toggling sprint, charging magic, anything that involves an action without a standard Roblox control scheme input is delayed by a significant amount.
[RESOLVED]
apparently the performance stats option was somewhat faulty, it is apparently due to my ping after all. Now I just need to find out what’s causing the ping.
If it’s delay it might as well be your ping because in my experience when I’m in a server in Asia I can barely spam magic jumps to get to high places because of the major ping difference and I have to resort to climbing instead.
Same goes with PvP making it really bothersome with pressing a hotkey only for it to load 2 seconds after or not load at all. I think you’re just in a bad region or there’s something going on with your ping since I never had any of the problems listed without it having to do with ping.
Did you check this something like a speedtest, or via the Roblox network menu?
If you have yet to check within Roblox, go in-game and press Shift + F3, and your ping will be displayed around the 5th line.
Well, the F3 menu is showing me a much higher ping than what is displayed than the performance stats found in Roblox’s settings. I guess that’s the problem, although I find it strange that the application would disagree with itself.
In my experience the menu shown with Shift + F3 has proven to be more accurate under more extreme loads/heavier network conditions but i’m not sure if that’s consistent behavior
Regardless you could probably troubleshoot further - does similar behavior happen in other Roblox games? E.g. Opening a door with E, or anything else outside of standard Roblox controls.
