Is anyone else pretty annoyed by these things?

Okay, these are some problems I’ve come across throughout my playthrough of the game

  • When using an explosion spell, the enemies are able to freely attack you, for example, if you want to finish some NPC’s off, they can quickly rapid stab you to death while you use an explosion spell.
  • Sometimes the detection range of some NPCs, mostly dark wizards, have a pretty far detection range and can detect you quite awhile away. I assume the dark wizards have that, “sensing” ability, but yeah.
  • When you die, you get spawned super far away sometimes. Once I was trying to clear a bandit camp near summer hold, spawned all the way in riverville. This is super inconvenient, instead of spawning at a preset spawnpoint, maybe spawn near the area that you died in.

list some other problems if you have some.

Oh yeah, 1 more problem

  • After I leave for a bit, for example to go to sleep, and wake up the next day, then get on, I get a random fine, even when I haven’t combat logged, nor damaged a single thing, I just normally left, and I receive a fine that can range from 17-50 crowns, this doesn’t affect me too much, but it gets irritating. Sometimes I even get a bounty for no reason, and have to surrender.

The first one doesn’t really seem like a problem, it’s just you badly using your spells at a bad time.

This is perfectly fine. You died, so you respawn relatively far away.
If you respawned close to where you died it would cause more problems than it solves, such as:

  • If you died because you were attacked by an extremely strong enemy respawning nearby may result in multiple deaths due to still being in that enemies range.
  • In pvp, it would result in the person who died coming back and attacking you again immediately with no break, which would be an issue and very annoying.
  • A high level player could spam max magic size ultimate explosions and end up accidentally spawnkilling you, or you could be spawnkilled by a gank squad that spreads out through the area you first died.

I do agree that fixed spawnpoints need to be fixed. If you die close to a fixed spawnpoint after spawning there I think you should lose nothing and get teleported to a different spawnpoint in order to prevent spawnkilling.

I believe you should also always teleport at least 200-500 meters away when you die, and never within 100 meters of a hostile npc.

  1. you aren’t supposed to be able to freely spam explosions, thats why you get locked in place, you have to time them right, otherwise yeah you can get stabbed

  2. thats just how its scripted

  3. if a city or area is under threat, you’ll spawn somewhere else
if you are in a wilderness area, unless you get arrested, you’ll usually spawn in the same wilderness area

  4. this is pretty normal and more of a bug, I think its like if you even partially damage a structure (like silent tower), and it gets destroyed later, you get a fine or something when you rejoin
not sure tho don’t quote me on that

You forgot to put culture locked items .-. :hugs:

youre prolly right but theres been times in both pvp and pve where me or the person i killed respawns rly close, and other times rly far away. it seems pretty inconsistent for me
Edit: i saw a reply talking about areas under threat but these examples happened in wilderness areas
