Is ash magic good?

I’ve got a max character with ash magic right now, and It seems pretty good so far. Like poison, it creates a cloud with DoT and the petrify effect seems to be super good for people who love running around. It honestly just seems to be a stronger version of poison.

Ash is good but I’d say poison has its own benefits. One of them being(if im not mistaken) the cloud doing the same damage that the blast does. Granted the damage is .75x but the cloud is ALSO doing the full .75x damage for the time that you sit in it. So I wouldn’t say ash is just a stronger poison, I’d say they both have their own ups and downs.

I’d say that it’s a weaker but cooler version of poison. Poison has greater overall damage and petrify is extremely hard to pull off (as you need other status effects or 33% damage in one hit.)

I feel like no elemental magic should be relegated to a largely support position. Things like Ash and Wood need buffs.

Pretty much all of the magics are good, you just have to know how to use them.

Well, basically any magic that isn’t underpowered. Magics have strengths and weaknesses. Here’s my list of particularly strong magics in no particular order

  • Plasma (because good damage, damage over time, really good speed)

  • Lightning (because speed)

  • Magma (because of the damage and puddles)

  • Iron (Because of the damage)

  • Gold (because of the damage)

  • Fire (because of the damage and good speed)

  • Light (because of the extreme speed)

The appeal to poison is that not only does it have better damage of the 2 with it’s DoT being better but that also it’s faster and a bit easier to land than Ash since it’s not about impact damage, it’s about the poison effect so you can have max size max explosion range without losing much DPS

I may or may not try and roll into castlian or alalean culture with a plasma magic user, plasma has good clash rates right?

I got a poison save to level 60 and the DoT damage was so low that people could outheal it. It basically only served as a healing slowdown. The impact damage was also low so they could just run until the poison was over and heal back to full.

Plasma has the 9th best clash rate at 0.99 so it has good clash rates, however the best part about plasma is EASILY the scorched debuff it inflicts

Plasma has relatively good clash rates, yeah. Not great but not horrible. It’s better than fire at clashing iirc.

I see. I also have a level 40 lightning account, i’m guessing the strengths of lightning is that it’s fast and the paralyed debuff?

Strengths of lightning are that it’s strong as shit, paralyzing is like good too but mainly about the speed and damage

The paralyzed debuf is so hard to proc that it shouldn’t be considered imo. The enemy’s most likely gonna lose anyways if he’s susceptible to the paralyzed debuff as your attacks need to deal 33% of his health in one hit with a magic with relatively low impact damage. The main strength is how fast it is imo. It also looks really cool so there’s that.

Ash is good by itself, and even better when used with fire. 92 power Ash & Fire is the best viable combo in the game at the moment. It gives the petrified effect, and the DoT is insane
