As most of you probably know by now, it has been revealed that both Morden and General Nasir are Legacies. That got me thinking about something.
Morden is a Legacy who uses the Death Curse, which is based on a form of magic derived from a Spirit Mutation. As far as I know, obtaining a Spirit Mutation requires someone to be a Legacy. Another thing is that, to use a curse, a person must be capable of manipulating magic, such as humans or dragons.
So, could this imply that in order to use a curse based on a Spirit Mutation or Blessing, someone must be able to freely manipulate spirit energy, which would make being a Legacy a requirement? If that’s true, wouldn’t that mean Acheron and Peacekeeper the user of the absorbtion blessing would also have to be Legacies?
Then again Octavios Caesar and Freedrock acquired the lazarus blessing and Merlin acquired the wisdom blessing and there`s nothing stating those guys are legacies so being a legacy most likely isn’t really a requirement.
I’m probably missing something or completely wrong about this, but I’d like to hear your thoughts on the matter.
I just think its really coincidental Morden is a legacy that has a curse based on a spirit mutation.
I remember an older vetex discord message saying that Blessings were only made with/using spirit energy and that they did not grant the ability to manipulate it. So from that, along with the other points you brought up, we can probably reasonably assume they don’t require spirit energy to use.
As for spirit mutation curses I genuinely have no clue. Presumably if gods can make it so relics have the ability to grant you spirit energy manipulation, Prometheus would also be able to do that with curses. But that’s just speculation on my part

You don’t need to be able to use magic to use curses so I don’t see why this same sort of thing wouldn’t apply with things that have spirit energy as well
anyway only reason why morden got the death curse is because the darkness curse is already taken by someone and vetex wanted to bring in the mysterious character with a tragic past and dangerous secret power trope
