the thing is thats not how magics work in ao
because vetex is very smar and thought out his lore magics hurt things because they don’t mesh with your opponents aura and thats also why it doesn’t hurt you
the clouds just hurt
those saying cloud magic wouldnt work in game are fucking stupid
literally any magic would work in game, esp cloud cuz it could have the gimmick of being a cold magic with clouds and a blind (foggy?), think snow with clouds
in lore is more debateable, any magic can be used offensively because of how they hurt people but cloud magic definetly has some more utility oriented skill sets. like making fog, freezing people, movement (cuz its magic clouds and the ones on cirrus are solid enough to hold up islands), and maybe block the sun or make cloud illusions

It seems like a pretty worthless magic (unless you’re using the cloud curse), but I wouldn’t call it a “fraud” because it’s pretty obvious that it’s worthless. It would only really be fraudulent if it deceived people into thinking that it’s useful.
If anything, I feel like it’d be fraudulently bad, because you’d expect it to be a little weak like Light, but what if it isn’t?
At least with light magic you get to give people cancer, nonmagical radiation poisoning, and burns of varying severity.
