Its really funny how Crystal went to a full 180° in the transition of WoM to AO.

Most people actually trashed Crystal for being the same as Earth iirc and just weak in general. It didnt have any fancy mechanic or anything like that. It was like “Earth but worse” or something. It was a very underrated magic at the time. Meanwhile, everyone LOVED Explosion.

Then AO came and suddenly Crystal became the “overrated magic” due to the new status effect and became top of the meta. And Explosion became the underrated one despite having no change iirc aside from visuals.

Funny how the tables turned.

And for crystals visuals… i kind of like AOs better! Maybe it could be a bit more Shiny and such but… i wasnt a fan of the WoM design! I did love the beam and shockwave explosion

Yeah, its a good magic. But it did become “overrated” like what Typ0 said above.

Crystal users became notorious due to the Iron Leg Crystal Warlocks. Those guys were busted due to the synergy with Iron Leg.

For a comparison, Iron Leg had similar properties to Metal Magic.

Metal Magic shatters Crystal.

This gives it about 20% bonus as a result everytime you do a hit.

So imagine that with IMBUE. Your basically permanently having 20% damage boost PLUS the magic that is imbued is a solid magic, meaning it deals more damage than other magics like lighting or light.

It was broken to the point it was notorious. Thats why such users are looked down upon lol. At least, thats my understanding of how it worked.

I tried out ironleg crystal, and i felt a massive surge of power and confidence with it. Sadly, WoM conditioned me to be mage but i was amazed at my magic potential!

I just personally loved how the blast and the explosions were in WoM Translucent, and they were unique. The current explosions are just the same spiked balls now, no matter which one you pick. But WoM, they had different shapes depending on the type of explosion, all which look very fitting for Crystal itself.

And I didnt like the texture in the current AO cause it basically looks like it has the sandy rock texture oof.

I hope vetex decides to change the pillar explosion back to something similar to wom’s version

Crystal isnt as hated I suppose… Which is awesome, i beleive crystal mages are just far rarer … Thats what i mean. I suppose poor snow exists…

Bring them all back, the Shockwave one literally looked like a pretty crystal lotus. I named some of my Crystal Magic spells In WoM after flowers because of how much they resembled flowers. Sadly, it was all lost :sob:

you have no idea how furious I was when I saw what the new crystal explosion looked like.

(like wtf why is it just a bunch of tiny spherical explosions :sob:)

Its not bad… Its pretty good AOE and damage wise! I use amethyst crystal… which im sure you wouldve NEVER guessed!

Same, I was like “Ay, wtf???” when I discovered the new Crystal explosions and also saw their textures.

I do admit though, the look of the explosion shockwave on the Axe Crash weapon skill looked very cool… I think thats the only instance of it

I really like crystal javelin looks, and high graphic surge is nice!
