i haven’t played that
I’d say it comes down to preference, but in terms of overall quality and effort, it definitely beats most if not all rpg/exploration games in the platform (especially with what’s coming in Verse 2)
The community isn’t all that bad (Atleast the sides I’ve seen), although I will say the main discord is kinda mess (you get banned for saying the word gay once. I’m not kidding)
It is very unbalanced in its current state, especially light weapons.
Overall, it’s a pretty solid roblox game. It’s not the hardest (mostly after you learn it), but it’s also not a stereotypical bandit beater that a toddler could play.
like you could expect anything good to be in a roblox game discord

I do not like permadeath. I think that permadeath should be limited to singleplayer roguelikes, because those games are better designed for it and you only lose a single run’s worth of progression when you die instead of losing entire days or even weeks of grinding.
if you view losing a build as losing progress then you arent going to find permadeath games fun, personally when i used to play deepwoken i viewed each build i lost as a chance to try out other builds, that and the fact i was too bad to have a build last for more than a few days and it didnt really feel like i lost progress
basically i just never took the game too seriously or tried to make the best most optimized characters that took a ton of time to build up, that way when i ended up losing them it didnt feel like a waste, but a chance to start a new character and have fun on that one
ignore people complaining about permadeath, ive been playing for a while and i literally only wipe when i choose to. its so easy to escape the depths that its not even an issue
The game is absolutely riddled with awful design flaws.
You know the ones, people here have probably told you about them 20 times over and if they haven’t, they will.
I don’t recommend it, I personally think Deepwoken does a disservice to literally every good roguelike game ever by making people think that its what they’re all like.
You’re either going to love Deepwoken or you’re going to hate it.
Just if you do hate it, don’t be one of the people that keeps playing it because
“oh no my $5, there has to be something worth it in here”.
Its more like Hades in roblox but guns.
If you know about Hades then you know how much people loved it and you’ll then know why so many people love Neon Knights.
Genuinely a nice game, would recommend.
the forum is always split 50/50 on it sooo gl
yes deepwoken is a good game. I would recommend playing with friends at firs because of how difficult it is early on, but the exploration, graphics, pvp, and player emersion is great.
just because the depths is easy to escape doesn’t mean you won’t get ass blasted by 4 power 60s at a low level? (and maybe even in the depths while you escape???)
its great game though it does have it’s problems the devs are working on fixing it, such as forge vouchers getting into the right kind of balance n such
I wish I had friends or something to play it with tho since it gets annoying having to trudge to d3 then getting bent over by 4 ad spawning bots that for some reason arent affected by my melee coupled with a beam arrow bot off by the edge sniping me, all solo
