If any of you play or have played the game, you’ve probably noticed that it’s constantly decreasing in popularity, and the online player count has significantly dropped. So, is Elden Ring dead? If not, when do you think it will die?
The ring is dying of old age
guys why does my non live service singleplayer game decrease in popularity after years since its release ???
honestly idk what dragged me away from elden ring but im more inclined to play ds3
Player count dropping is kinda just the nature of singleplayer games like this, especially RPGs. Elden ring might seem “dead” if you compare it to really popular multiplayer or live service games, but for a single player game I think it’s still doing pretty well. It was one of the top 10 best-selling games in the US in 2024 leading up to/following the release of its DLC, and It’s gonna be getting a spinoff game Nightreign sometime this year I’m pretty sure. It’s also in the top 25 of daily steam players rn.
So while it experienced a natural drop in popularity due to most of its audience already having played it and moved on, it’s still a pretty massively popular game imo
I got it like a week ago so I wouldn’t know
it’s been fun as hell though, high player count or not
but to answer the question, I don’t think it’s dead, at least not yet. it’s been years since release, so it’s unsurprising that it, a mostly singleplayer pve game, is going to die down a bit as people get tired of it. as for when it’s going to die, I can’t say for sure since it’s a relatively popular game, which will probably continue to attract players
That’s actually… really funny.
Dark Souls discusses the idea that everything has to end. Everything must die, and discusses as such with the Flame.
Elden Ring’s popularity is dying. It’s time has come, it seems. Still, an amazing game.
