Is it just me or do I see a fatal flaw?
To become a regular you need likes, however, I’ve searched and haven’t found anywhere I can post without being a regular. How do you get likes as a Basic user? Anything will help! Thanks!

you need a bit of time before being able to access suggestions, but thats the only active topic limited by trust level

Basic users like you (TL1) can post in all categories except #bug-reports and #suggestions.
Most discussion happens in #off-topic or #game-discussion.
Members (TL2) can post in all the categories (including bug reports and suggestions). This is different from Regular, and is obtained after you’ve visited the site on 15 seperate days. This might be what’s confusing you.
Regulars (TL3) can access no extra categories (except a private one where nothing important happens).
Where does it say you need to become a regular to post? You’re posting here right now, so clearly there’s some confusion.
It says to get to a Regular, you must get likes and some other things
But (to my knowledge) you need to be a regular to post on suggestions, aka the only place that I know where you can get likes.

Likes are the hearts on your posts - they’re different to votes, which are used in #suggestions.
Anyone can earn likes in any category - your original post has two, which means you’ve already got enough for Member (trust level 2). The only requirement you don’t meet for getting Member and posting in #suggestions is the 15 day one, which you’ll get in a couple days.
The site shouldn’t be telling you that you need to be a Regular, since that’s a different trust level (50 days) and isn’t related to #suggestions . A site admin will need to fix that.

no worries, glad we got this cleared up
Also only Leaders and staff can close posts, though usually we only close threads that get out of hand - if a thread is “finished” it’s best to leave it open in case someone has something else to add.
