Is it reasonable that players can escape Earth lorewise?

@Pip_Zog Nah, we were all wrong. It is lack of oxygen

you have to move ridiculously fast to actually reach space,
and even if you did,
unless you were a curse user,
you’d just die

noteworthy, reaching that speed would probably kill you to begin with

we can escape, but vetex not going add a space to us

Maybe you could just go up and lose all of your oxygen then die

introducing flight magic and a shit ton of magic energy (they most likely die once they leave the atmosphere tho)

ehhh i’m in between on this

Yeah, probably the biggest hurdle in real life is the conservation of mass and energy (takes energy to move mass, takes mass to create enough energy) for continuous propulsion, and achieving escape velocity (without destroying your payload) otherwise.

however, none of that seems to apply to magic, so there’s theoretically nothing stopping you from propelling yourself up all the way to space with the matter you near effortlessly pulled from who knows where (but it may take a while with periods of recharging and comparatively slow flight speeds).

however, as many have pointed out, it probably wouldn’t end too well with currently available equipment.

But this was a could we not should we question, so my answer is most likely yes.

Edit: Though you may actually not make it DUE to the time it takes and lack of oxygen + high radiation + pressure issues + extreme temperatures well before you reach “space”

we’d be dead before we got there

we don’t need to survive
we just need to escape earth

You don’t need to reach escape velocity if you have constant acceleration. Escape velocity only applies to non-propelled objects that use brief, periodic thrusts of momentum. Magic users have the flight ability so they don’t need that

yes however wizards have limited magic energy
the speed entirely relies on type of magic as well
