For lightning yeah, its better to be mage tbh. Especially when u have water magic
if u have high speed magic then go mage
large/slow magic could too, but require either good predicting skill or a whole lot of size
anything between, espcially ones that sygnerize with bleed works well with conjurer

Lots of depends, nowadays there are a lot of weapons which have good synergies
Mages make the game alot easier if your magic is good for it, but overall just find something you have fun with

Mage is meta for pve, but conjurer is probably the most well rounded class in the game. Your choice - conjurer is probably good with any magic, while mage needs mastering, but is a sleeper if you know how to play.
Conj is MUCH harder to play than mage for pvp and is HARDLY the most well rounded class in the game. It only works best with fast magics/bleed syn unless you’re running a meme build with 300 size on earth/metal conj but any build would be good with that level of fuckery
Huh? Conjurers get both good long range spells such as beam and musket or even staff, while also having stable close range/aoe moves such as rapiers and greatswords and claws. They can even have Aura as well, and they also can use snare which is objectively the best grab in the game. All the other classes focus on something else - Mage on range, Zerker on close range.

If you can find a single 150 magic conj player Id be damned, aura/focus got hard nerfed in 1.13 and I don’t know a single person that would pick aura over normal weapons
Snare only works half the time for mage but it gets worse for hybrids because of the reduced tier
Yes different classes have different pros and cons but in the current state of the game mage can do it all; blast/beam combo and pulsar for zoning + (ult art) self explosion and surge to counter rushdown playstyles
I’d switch to mage if I could but then it would mirror ana the kid diddler gravy build. Id only make the switch if magic resets were out so I can change to a wind mage
